Our weekend dates
If you asked me what my ideal dates are now, it’d be long romantic walks down the grocery aisles. If before you’d see most often in beauty counters swatching makeup and checking out the newest collections, now I’m almost always in groceries combing through different products and brands, comparing prices and value-for-money, scouring the aisles for new wine to try (jk! okay half true). I’ve even passed on this “hobby” to my daughter Selene who always asks to come with whenever I do our groceries.
Recently, the newest Shopwise hypermarket in Circuit Makati had its grand launch and they invited us to check it out. Being the tambay sa grocery that we are, of course we we’d be there to witness it. There aren’t a lot of Shopwise Hypermarkets near us – the one we went to before where we did our vlog was Araneta Center in QC. It’s because Shopwise focused on building their smaller, neighborhood grocery versions that are scattered everywhere. Keep scrolling for a photo diary of our grocery date in the newly-opened Shopwise Circuit!
First stop: get a cart! Selene is the ultimate grocery buddy. She sometimes even makes our shopping list a.k.a need-to-buy so I won’t forget. I often say “Yes, I have everything in my head” only to forget one or two items once we get home.
She’s too big for the seating space allotted for kids so sa loob na siya umuupo!
The hypermarket design is well-lit, spacious that you don’t bump carts with others and organized.
One of my favorite sections – the Health and Beauty aisle. Ask me prices and I would definitely know which shampoo and conditioner is the best value-for-money size wise. LOL!
The sales team are in rollerblades so if you’re in the checkout lane and need to exchange/add products you’ve forgotten, they can quickly and efficiently do it for you without holding up the line too long! Super love how they’re all so nice and helpful too!
One of my favorites – Shopwise in-house brands that are the best value for money!
An assortment of their Shopwise products we have yet to try!!
One of my guilty pleasures: noodles! The Korean Shin Ramyun is a staple. I eat it when I watch my K-dramas LOL! But this Mi Goreng looks tempting – I actually bought some to try!
These snack crisps are something unique – long 20 cm crisps with no artificial colouring! Selene saw them and asked if we could try a few flavors – namely the Tangy Cheese and Salt & Vinegar.
Breakfast jams with no added sugar and 100% fruit content.
An Australian Nutella substitute – definitely cheaper!
Her favorite aisle – snacks for her baon!
Healthy snack alternative – trail mix with no cholesterol!
Shared this on my IG – one of my favorite aisles, no joke! The laundry detergent and fabric softener aisle. PS – we are a Downy family!
Enjoying her time in the cart!
Friends, if we’re ever grocery shopping and I get lost, you can find me here!
Love that they have this cheese platter you can sample!
Spanish cured sausages!
A staple Mom Me Time bottle – WINE.
One of my favorite cheeses – Spanish Manchego! This Manchego Curado is actually cheaper by a few pesos from the one I usually buy.
Guess who got first dibs on their Jamon Serrano!
Sliced fruits in a cup!
Their fast food section looks so nice!
The Kuya you see in front assisted us during the checkout. He asked if I had the Wise card na and when I said that I didn’t have yet, he actually processed it for me.
Be sure to get a WISE card if you’re a Shopwise grocer!
Did I mention they have FREE WIFI for all shoppers? Haha! Woot!
Once you’ve finished your shopping, you’re asked to rate their service by handing out one of these to the cashier!
They also have an ongoing promo where they’ll be giving 100 (yes, one hundred!) new units of Oppo F7. Those two raffle tickets you see are mine! Never one to pass from a raffle so yes, bininyagan ko!
From their well-organized design, wide hypermarket selection and great value-for-money items, I definitely recommend Shopwise. However, their great customer service is by far my favorite part of shopping in their stores! Especially when you’re doing the groceries with kids when it then becomes an Olympic sport! I absolutely appreciate that you can ask them to get something for you when you’re quite far from that specific aisle already. You won’t feel ashamed for asking for help (like in other supermarkets where they sorta make you feel guilty pa for not getting it yourself) because they’ll even ask you if you need any assistance. We definitely love Shopwise!
