Rock Tom Ford
Is this for real? The brand I obsessed with 4 years ago is finally coming to Manila. Back then, I would never have imagined being sent a Tom Ford product for editorial consideration. I started my blog then out of pure love and curiosity for makeup being a newbie who knew how to put nothing but concealer. But there was something about the endless raves of Tom Ford products I kept on hearing from Singapore makeup bloggers/instagrammers I looked up to that lured me to dip my toes into the brand.
And dipped my toes, I did. I may have actually almost drowned from the beautifully-formulated eyeshadow and lipstick products I first tried. They are luxury-priced but once you try on the makeup, you may suddenly forget your doubts on the accompanying price tag. You won’t understand why you are suddenly coveting a gorgeous mahogany and gold square tube and compact. It’s the Tom Ford effect.
The lipsticks are rich and pigmented and go boldly on the lips in one swipe. The eyeshadow palettes are so fine, silky and smooth that you can blend them in one swipe. No kidding. My nonexistent eyeshadow blending skills suddenly look pro-level even if I just blended it with my pinky finger. I SWEAR. No exaggerations. But don’t take my word for it because you can experience it yourself since they are launching this October 6 here in Manila! Just go, try the shadows, swatch the lipsticks.. and you’ll get what I mean.
Also, I just want to share my discovery on the product amount. The eyeshadows contain a whopping 10 grams which explains why I still have a lot of product left despite the continuous usage (I use these palettes more often than my other palettes). A Chanel palette, for example, contains 6.8 grams. YSL, 5 grams. Dior, 6 grams. If we compute cost/ounce, Tom Ford quads actually offer the best value.
