Brow Wow Collection Launch
In my years of beauty blogging, I’ve never come across a collection that releases one whole range devoted entirely to the Master Shaper of our faces  — our eyebrows. As for Benefit, this is their most colossal collection release to date. Not only have they reformulated a few of their most-loved products, they’re also adding new shades. Not to mention the spiffy, new Benefit-like packaging! This is definitely a collection you must check out in store – especially since it’s all about the brand’s core expertise.
Way before Benefit became the huge, successful company that it is now – they actually started in 1976 as “The Face Place” where they would groom eyebrows and do makeup on women. Brows have always been of utmost importance to Jean and Jane Ford – the twin founders. This 2016, they’ve come up with exciting new products such as brow nourishing primers, highlighters, different types of pencils and pomades to cater to the growing brow market. The products can be layered over one another or used individually, depending on the look you’re going for.
Brow Conditioning Primer
My first encounter of such a product! A primer with skincare-like benefits but for your brows. This is a gel-like primer that comes in a pen-shaped tube with a slanted rubber tip (kind of like Air Patrol) for easy application. Like a face or eye primer, this is intended to make your brow pencil or brow gel stay put longer and look more vibrant.
In addition to that, the nutrient-rich formula promises to make your brow hairs grow if you use it every day for a month. UH-HUH. I’ve yet to report on results, but I like that this tames my brows instantly especially since I’ve embroidered brows now and don’t need a lot of product.
I don’t really have a problem growing out my brows but for those who have tried to thicken their brow hairs, please try this out and report back to me! Especially for those who can barely grow their brow hairs in a span of a month – because mine grow out in 2-3 weeks even without any growing ‘primer’. Also, I just can’t get on layering this beneath my brow products every day because I’m too lazy to wait for it to dry and set before I can layer on my other brow pencils. We’ll see, maybe I’ll grow into using this but this is one of the products in the collection I’m not too on board with.

Goof Proof Brow Pencil
This is what I’d deem the beginner’s brow pencil. The tip of the pencil is slanted and triangular making it super easy and a breeze for both outlining and filling in the brows. I love the consistency of this, as well — it’s not so creamy that you end up with intense-looking Frida Kahlo brows, but it’s not too chalky that it takes too long to do your brows either. This is the perfect kind of buildable eyebrow pencil that makes it a breeze for beginners, as well as for those on-the-go aka those too lazy to carefully and meticulously shape their brows every single day.
Did I mention this formula is waterproof? A waterproof eyebrow pencil, definitely rare to find too! It also comes in six shades so you’re sure to find one for yourself (and every change in hair color you might have LOL). Not to mention, it has a useful spoolie at the other end, too. This definitely makes it to my top favorite eyebrow pencils of all time.

Gimme Brow
If you loved the old Gimme Brow, then this new formulation will excite you even more. Their famous tinted brow gel is now more pigmented and pomade-like, which allows you to build up your brow hairs in a bold but natural way. It still contains tiny microfibers that adhere to skin & hair that creates that natural-looking Cara De Levingne fullness and definition.  The brush’s tiny head makes it very easy to apply. It nows comes in three shades, which you could layer for more dimension.
I’ve colored hair and I sadly don’t find Gimme Brow’s tintedness enough for my preference. I still use a regular colored brow mascara that heavily tints my brows to match my hair color.

Precisely, My Brow Pencil
This pencil is made for those who love doing their brows with optimum precision. It helps to “fake” the look of natural brows because of its ultra-fine tip. If you have sparse brows and want to draw on natural-looking brow hairs, this is precisely for you, my dear. I like using this for drawing in brow hairs on the ‘beginning’ part of my brow (closest to the nose bridge) to make the brow look more natural and not drawn on.

Ka-Brow Brow Gel
This product solidifies my love for brow gels. Despite my embroidered brows, I’ve still taken to using this Ka-Brow gel more often than I expected I would. While my brows look ‘naturally drawn’ without any product due to my semi-permanent tattoo, it lacks the oomph I want when I’m wearing semi-full makeup. So, this creamy brow gel is definitely my pick for full-on looking brows with that “HD” feel. If you want to take it a notch higher, you can create THE ‘Instagram Brow’ with this.
In the photos above, I forgot to show you the mini angled brush it comes with so you won’t have to ever lose any eyebrow brush again rendering your brow gels useless ’til you buy a new one. I also like that you can even extend the mini brush by unscrewing the pot, popping out the brush, flipping it over and sticking it back into the tip of the cover. Should have taken a photo, woops. Anyway, this is one of my top favorite products in the collection, hands down.

This is not part of the collection but I really love the limited edition tweezers Benefit included in the press kit! The brush on the other end is so helpful!
Final Thoughts
This is a 9-item collection and I’ve only reviewed 5 meaning there are 4 other items I’ve yet to try – the new Brow Zings (I’ve this just misplaced it woops), Ready Set Brow clear brow gel, 3D Browtones Highlighting Gel and High Brow Glow highlighting pencil. My top two picks among the 5 I’ve tried are Ka-Brow brow gel and Goof Proof eyebrow pencil – one for super defined brows and one for on-the-go brow needs! Let me know which one you’re keen to try among everything. Would love to hear your thoughts!
Also, this whole collection will be available in all Benefit counters on July 1. BUT there will be a special early access sale for those who want first dibs on the products on June 25-26.

I’m so excited about this! Do you know how much the set will retail for?

Hi Lysha! They’re sold individually – the whole set though, I’m not sure how much would cost! 🙂

HOLY. This is a whole lot of product. I still haven’t tried gimmie brow so that’s definitely on my list!

Definitely one of the best brow collections to be released though 🙂 Gimme Brow doesnt do a whole lot of difference on my brows, TBH but I know a lot of women (even men!) who swear by it.

Wow, I’ve never seen a brow collection like this. Definitely want to try the Gimmie Brow and Ka-Brow gel!

Releasing this collection is such a good move by Benefit because it seems like everybody’s obsessed with brows nowadays! I agree with your top picks here; both products seem to stand out more than the others. And those tweezers tho!! 😀

I now need that Gimme Brow in my life!

  6. June 23, 2016 / 6:02 pm

You know how much of a brow person I am so this collection really pisses me off! Benefit be taking away all my money! Out of all the products mentioned here it’s actually Goof Proof that I have the least interest in because I’m indifferent about angled brow liners.

I’ve replaced my love for Gimme Brow with Glossier’s Boy Brow so I’m also on the fence on whether I should repurchase that or not. The Ka Brow, Precisely and Primer are definitely the products I WANT to get. It sucks we don’t have Benefit here in Cebu so I won’t be able to take part in the pre-sale this weekend or at least test the colors on me to know which is most suitable before ordering it online. Thanks for the lovely photos!! I’m excited for this collection.
