Some Empties

With a few “Hit Pan” items
One of the most satisfying feelings in any beauty junkie’s life — emptying things! If you know me, I tend to really experiment and try out different products everyday that it feels impossible to even “hit pan” on stuff. Which is why I’m so proud of myself that I’ve actually gathered enough items to be able to create this “empties” post. Most of these are products I truly love using while some are okay, they work well and do the job but I just want to finish them up so I can try something else.

Estee Lauder Rosy Gel. One of my most used moisturizer (day and night!) during the past year. I really love the gel texture and how it feels so refreshing and moisturising on the face without being heavy as other creams. It has the tendency to sting a bit – given the peony and other extracts in the ingredients. But just a day after slapping this on, I discover that my that breakouts dry up and heal faster as to when I don’t use it – even on its own! I’ve skipped out on serum and other products – using just this for a week or two – and I do see major improvements texture-wise. Although I use the Estee Lauder Nutritious facial cleanser every night in conjunction with this.
Banila Co. Cleansing Balm. Officially a convert of this balm. It smells so good – plus, the sherbet texture doesn’t feel too oily or greasy when emulsified. It removes makeup, even waterproof ones, quickly as it cleanses deeply. No breakouts or allergic reaction despite the faint scent. I have already repurchased this so yes, I really do love it. Comparing it to the Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Balm, this one is softer and mushier compared to the harder, waxy balm that TBS was made of. Although both function the same, I prefer Banila’s as it has that scent I can’t get enough of.

Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Mascara. Lightweight, non-smudging, lengthening, holds curl in place. This is the mascara I used daily for how many months until I actually used it up that I still scrape the sides just to see if I can still milk it. I was that obsessed. Huge con for any waterproof mascara is it’s a pain to remove but I’ve mastered the art of massaging oil cleanser onto my lashes every time I wear this that it hasn’t been a hassle at all. Definitely repurchasing it if I get the chance. This was just a gift from a friend from Europe!
Laneige BB Cushion. I don’t know if this contained a small amount of product than the usual BB creams or if it dries up or I just really loved it so much I was able to actually use it up quickly. This is one of the best BB cream/bases that brightens me without looking ghostly or pasty. It has a slightly dewy finish that’s reminiscent of K-Pop skin that glows just right. That pearlescent glow that will make you wonder if she has extremely good skin or just using a lovely BB cream. I am so repurchasing this. Or maybe try other brands’ versions of the cushion tech first. Any suggestions?
Chanel Ebene eyeliner. Used everyday on the waterline with minimal to no smudging, depending on how fidgety I am with my eyes that day. This actually lasts on the waterline better than others that I’ve tried. It’s a pure black eyeliner pencil that just works. A bit expensive than most liner pencils, yes – but it works for me. I’m open to discovering other liners that work well on the waterline but if I don’t find a good one, I may come back to this.

MAC Faux Lipstick. Ladies, please, your round of applause! Together, let’s salute the fact that I actually finished up a tube of lipstick!! Thank you, thank you very much! I find FAUX the perfect pinky nude/nudy pink/slightly MLBB shade that takes me from you-look-like-youre-about-to-faint greige pale to wow-are-those-lips-injected? You get what I mean. Con to this is it was quite drying on me but I lip-balmed my way out of it. This is the shade that never leaves my bag.
K-Palette Brow Pen. You can say that I loved this quite a lot because this is actually the 3rd pen I’ve emptied/finished in 1 and a half years. However, since discovering other pencils that work ‘faster’ on me, I’ve been preferring those over this pen. It’s just that the ‘natural brows’ I achieve with this takes me a good 15-20 minutes to finish – due to the super light strokes and pigment. That’s on a good day! With other products, I find that I can finish up my brows in 5 minutes. However, K-Palette lasts and lasts until the time you’re ready to take it off unlike others that may have the tendency to be wiped off during the day.
Bobbi Brown Long Wear Defining Brow Pencil. One of my substitutes to the K-Palette pen above that cuts my brow routine in more than half the time. Really love the tapered tip and the not-too-faint-yet-not-too-strong pigment. I got the shade ____ and the ashy tones are just right for my hair color. Plus, the spoolie on the end is extremely useful in brushing up brow hairs as well.
Hit Pan
Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation (review). I’ve less than 1/4 of this left, I think. If you asked me ‘everyday foundation’, this is it. Dewy, natural finish with medium coverage. However, don’t expect it to last the whole day in humid weather.
Bobbi Brown Corrector in Peach. I don’t know if I should still be using this as I’ve had it for 3 years now LOL. But I love how it really aids in covering up dark circles before putting on concealer. Thinking if I should repurchase together with the cream concealer – I’ve tried both in counter and I was really convinced. Love that the concealer comes with a powder already for setting the undereyes. HMMMM. Decisions! #concealerfreak
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette (review). You guys, I’ve actually hit pan on two – Incandescent and Radiant! I think my sister contributed to this because I “lost” this palette for a good month and found out it was with her. Ha ha. Anyway, I’m tempted to get that 6 pan Hourglass palette but I may skip out first. I’m quite happy with my Burberry highlighter. It’s just that this palette is so handy for travel, touch-ups, everything!!

I have that same Bobbi Brown Corrector in Peach. I love it! I use it every time I put on makeup; without it my concealer looks ashy. I scraped my first one until it was super simot, and I’ve already hit pan on my second! My friends at the office made fun of me when I got super kilig at hitting pan – but that’s the feeling!!! Hahahaha

I suggest IOPE Air Cushion XP! It’s got a reaaally nice glow and looks very, very natural, like it’s your skin but at least 5x better!

  4. February 13, 2016 / 1:48 pm

Round of applause for empties! Hitting pan issooo difficult; my Hourglass palette doesn’t even look touched. I had to use up a few samples (and other lingering products) in preparation for my move but then I ran out of time and tossed them out x.x

Hahaha if you had me as a sister, your hourglass palette (and err probably lots more makeup items) will go missing even longer.

Finishing a MAC lipstick is so weirdly satisfying no? Just wish they had the back to MAC program locally.

Hi Shari! Wow dami mo na naubos! 🙂 What shade do you use in Bobbi Brown Skin foundation and Laniege BB cushion?

  7. February 13, 2016 / 6:25 pm

Great job!!! I really like Chanel liners and have gone thru quite a few of the black and brown shades of them.

I am a convert of Banila Co’s Clean It Zero too! It’s the best. Do you know where it can be purchased here in the Ph? 🙂

Getting through a lipstick really is an achievement, but Faux definitely is one of those colours you wear at all times!

I really love that Bobbi Brown eyebrow pencil! I’ve been using it for a month and a half now and I love how easy it is to use. <3

I only DREAM of hitting pan on my hourglass ambient lighting palette! Looks like I need to try harder 🙂

  13. February 15, 2016 / 6:23 am

It’s actually a super amazing thing that you have hit pan on the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette and I am amazed that you finished a lipstick too! I see people commenting that they have used and re-purchased a MAC lipstick twice or more and I’m just super impressed hahah cos until now I have only hit pan on a Charlotte Tilbury powder, once. hehehhe. Love this post, so inspiring! This kind of posts motivates me to save and use what I have already own x

I always love reading through empties posts on other people’s blogs! I’ve been using up a ton of skincare products and recently just finished up my Pixi glow tonic and will soon be finishing up my Kiehl’s midnight recovery oil. Makeup is a lot harder for me to finish and I really only finish up eyeliners and mascaras – but I may come close to finishing up my Laura Mercier foundation soon so I’m excited for that!

Oh wow – this is definitely the most satisfying empties post I’ve ever come across! First of all, emptying a lipstick? WOW. I get that it’s Faux and probably my most reached for everyday lipstick as well, but still, wow. I’m feeling the same way about cushion foundations seeming to run out quicker as well. I know there’s only 15ml of product in my innisfree Water Glow Cushion – but it already seems to be running low and I’ve only had it for about 6 weeks. That said, I can still get quite a bit of product out of it – maybe it’s just the fact that it’s not as obviously liquidy so I think that I’m running low on product??? IDK. But yeah, you should try the innisfree cushion foundation cuz it’s honestly amazing! xxxx

Haha I love empties posts! That Banila Co Cleansing Balm is up on my list of things to buy – can’t wait to try it for myself! Also, a round of applause for nearly finishing that Bobbi Brown foundation! I have a bottle too and used to hate it, until my skin got better. <3

Long time no comment from me, but its nice to see you're still blogging yay!!
