aka Project Use Up Yo MakeupJust a quick post to share some of the products I reach for more often than any other items in my stash hence — dents, pot smears and powdery mess everywhere, yay! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it makes me feel pleased seeing used (and abused) makeup. Save for a few (either super expensive or hard-to-come-by) products, I always make it my goal to hit pan on everything I buy. I would hate for myself to become a hoarder and just be someone who keeps on buying new things yet afraid to even open or touch them for fear of desecration. Although I’ve had my share of just staring at some palettes, blushes and lipsticks a few minutes (too long) just admiring their beauty before finally deciding to dip my filthy fingers on them. Bobbi Brown Corrector in Peach. Pan porn, pan porn! I’ve had this for a year now and I still go back to it every now and then, especially if my dark circles are making their appearances, red-carpet ready and full-on in their purply glory. It’s creamy but not stiff and waxy (ehem, MAC Studio Finish) so it can be patted on easily. Not much coverage but really does a great job canceling out those pesky bluish/purplish circles. MAC Fluidline Gel Browcreme in Dirty Blonde. I’ve hated a.k.a been really lazy to do any kind of filling in brows before (much preferring looking unkempt *yikes* over spending extra time on shaping them). But upon discovering this product, I now couldn’t stop looking at other people’s bedraggled brows and thinking to myself – they need some major brow-mance. I don’t like calling things HG, but this may just be it for me. I’m so happy MAC brought this back (permanently!) so I can finally stop scrimping on this pot right here. MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. A product that changed the way I looked at eyeshadows and eye makeup. Prior to this, I hated the way eye makeup looks on me (which made me skip it altogether before) – and I realized it’s because I have such yellowish lids (not to mention a bit on the oily side!) that hinder the shadows from manifesting their real color and texture. Soft Ochre evens out the lids and mattifies it – so well in fact that any eyeshadow look I do comes out as if it were done professionally by a makeup artist (despite my lack of skills in the subject and/or the lack of pigment in the shadows!). Paint pots are super soft and smooth, almost like butter but dries fast so you can directly apply eyeshadow after just 10 seconds. I’ll forever be repurchasing this! Rouge Bunny Rouge Unforgettable Oriole. I only realized recently just how often I reached for this single shade when I saw one of my NARS blushes’ cover almost completely covered by excess powder of this shadow. Woops. I’ve been loving this for inner third of my lids or inner half (most of the time) because it gives such an eye-opening look without screaming shimmer. Post a look soon. Calvin Klein Ultimate Edge Gel Eyeliner in Black Ice. I received this as a GWP from a Strawberrynet order way back (probably 8-9 months ago) and I’m amazed that it’s still usefully creamy and hasn’t dried out at all. I used this once then and saw nothing special so I kept it at the back of my drawers only to rediscover it now and actually use it everyday. It’s not the blackest of black shade, but in terms of longevity, it stays put for 8 hours before smudging and transferring on the lower lids. Basically, a so-so gel liner. I’d probably recommend just getting the Maybelline one over this (if this is even available still! I didn’t even know Calvin Klein had a makeup line).
