And Not Enough Fabric for my Tops

As a follow-up to my previous post regarding On the Go vs Take Your Time makeup, I’m sharing today the Take Your Time version. This is when I have 1023840 minutes to do a full face including the use of as many eyeshadows as I want, the whole subtle contouring shebang and even the thing I hate doing most – application of falsies (which I didn’t do for this look). Teaser. I am not the biggest fan of needles so those marks on my left arm (your right) aren’t tattoos. I was actually swatching an eyeshadow palette prior so my left arm is filled with swatches. It’s a palette I didn’t think I would like but still was interested to experience. I was even preparing how to say shitty in 10 different ways already cos I was certain I would only like a few. If you’re interested to know what the hell I’m drivelling on about here, wait for my next posts. Wink wink!   dthe misty mom ootdfashion ootd zara topshop mango denim shorts crop top

Hair Dilemma

I’ve been contemplating on getting a dramatic haircut for the longest time now. If you follow me on Twitter, you may have read one too many tweets on that extended contemplation. It’s been 5 years since I had the confidence to chop off all the layers and leave it within shoulder length level (and that’s not even the length I’m bottling up confidence for now, I want it shorter!). Yes, I have hair attachment issues. However, imagining myself with the short hair that I want on my round-shaped face, I never fail to convince myself otherwise. I know it wouldn’t be flattering on me. I know it but I don’t know why I keep on insisting anyway! Seeing square-shaped, oval-shaped and heart-shaped faces rocking the short hair is probably the culprit. Heck, who knows, it’s just hair. Maybe I’ll still chop it all off one of these days. 2-liter bottle of confidence, ice-cold, please.

Daaang. How are you so skinny? 🙁 I think your hair looks great! You could always just do a faux bob. I’ve been growing out my hair but my mom’s pushing me to cut it. She claims shorter hair would better suit me since I have a heart shaped face. Curious about that eyeshadow palette. Can’t wait to hear about it! 🙂

    • April 14, 2014 / 2:26 pm

I’ve been on a no-rice diet since I weaned Selene. I also toned down on my appetite since I stopped breastfeeding 🙂 I think I’ll try a wig first LOL. I remember the last time I cut my hair short, I regretted it. I think if I had a heart-shaped face like yours, I would’ve gone for the short hair way back pa. 😉

  2. April 13, 2014 / 3:54 pm

WOW! You are such a stunner seriously! <3 I love this outfit on you! For some reason I got kilig when I realized that I have the same cropped top but in burgundy (got it at a bazaar). LOL. I haven't worn it out yet because I didn't know how to wear it hahaha. Now I'm excited to wear it weee! :3

    P.S. love the make up!

    • April 14, 2014 / 2:28 pm

Wow naman, stunner! THANKS EILES! *blush* I think I saw the same burgundy one! Wear yours na and post your OOTD too 😉 AND finally, you created a blog congrats! Can’t wait to read more!

I have a round face and I cut almost 19in off a month and a few weeks ago. I just had a trim last week, and it was glorious. I love having short hair. Haha go for it Shari!!!! You have more angles in your face, you can so pull it off. 🙂

    • April 14, 2014 / 2:33 pm

Good for you, Ceej!! 19 inches is too scary for me, but I know how it feels when you’ve chopped off a good weight off your shoulders 😉 Literally and figuratively! Also, the ‘angles’ you’re pertaining to are all illusions from the contour job I did in this photo LOL. Thanks for sharing your liberating experience though, super tempting lalo!

      • April 14, 2014 / 9:36 pm

Haha forreals common misconception lang na really short hair won’t look good on round faces, I mean look at Kirsten Dunst, Michelle Williams and Ginnifer Goodwin! haha! talagang namilit e no.

  4. April 13, 2014 / 5:31 pm

Absolutely gorgeous dear! I love how the look is a bit deep, smokey, sultry and your look is so fun and stylish! Awesome job!

    • April 14, 2014 / 2:33 pm

I love that I was able to give off some sultry vibes!! Thanks Sharlynn! Appreciate it!

  5. April 13, 2014 / 6:06 pm

Your hair looks amazing! I’m inggit hehe. Anyway, you looking stunning as ever! Bet ko yang contour mo. Fierce! <3

    • April 14, 2014 / 2:34 pm

THANKS VV! Walang ligo lang yan for one week LOL! Joke! :)) See you real soon !

  6. April 13, 2014 / 6:36 pm

Chopping off like 2-3 inches of hair feels really liberating! Or maybe you should try on wigs first.

    • April 14, 2014 / 2:34 pm

I like that idea Elle!!! Will hunt down wigs this week :)) Why havent I thought of that!

      • April 15, 2014 / 1:53 pm

Also, to save money from spending on wigs, you can browse on tutorials on YT and make a faux bob. 😀 It really helps! I’ve done it. Hahaha But still don’t have the guts to chop off my waist-line-length hair. -__-

    GANDAAAAA and SEXYYYYYY!!! Woot! 🙂

    • April 16, 2014 / 12:16 am

Says the pretty sexy one 😉 Thanks gurlfran. Miss yew 🙁

  8. April 13, 2014 / 7:06 pm

You look amazinggg. Speaking of chopping off hair, I just decided to go for it this weekend. Mine was a bit shorter than yours but now it’s shoulder length. Kind of adjusting to the change but I like having a lighter weight on my head and less time/effort with the bare minimum maintenance I was already doing.

    • April 16, 2014 / 12:19 am

May we take a peek at this surely gorgeous new ‘do? I know the feeling of having a huge chunk of weight taken off your shoulder after a new haircut. I live for those moments when I just feel like flipping my hair back and forth all day. But then comes haircut regret shortly thereafter… almost 80% of the time 🙁 I hope to get a haircut soon, though. Just contemplating on getting a trim or a full-on new style.

  9. April 13, 2014 / 7:09 pm

You look so gorgeous Shari! The crop top looks so nice on you!
haha I can totally understand your hair attachment issue, because I have a chronic one! I always have my hair long for almost 15 years? But with my round shaped face and chubby cheeks, I think I will have to stay with long hair ^^

    • April 16, 2014 / 12:22 am

Thank you thank you Pam! This chronic haircut attachment on the bright side has saved me $$$ because I only get a haircut, um once a year? LOL! I have a round face too and I should know better than getting a bob because emphasis on further roundness, Shari. I might just get a trim or some bangs should I decide not to pursue. 🙂

  10. April 13, 2014 / 8:42 pm

Oh God, I can NOT believe you’re someone’s MAMA! You’re too hot!!!

Also that swatchy arm problem? I know that very well :p I’m sure you’d look great with short hair anyways (your face is not round to me)!

    • April 16, 2014 / 12:24 am

WHAT. SUNNY! TOO KIND OF YOU. I’m blushing now. Hee. *_* Thank you!!

And believe me – the wonders of contouring have helped my round face a lot :)) I wish it were an oval (or a heart-shaped!) instead so I can get any haircut I want but it’s round! No escaping it hehe!

    • April 16, 2014 / 12:25 am

Makeup, girl! Makeup lang kinakain ko :)) Hehe. Actually no rice diet has helped me a lot! And no fastfood as much as possible. I cut down on carbs, too!

    • April 16, 2014 / 12:25 am

      Thanks zazie babe!

    • April 16, 2014 / 12:25 am

Thank you Cindy! 🙂 Appreciate your comment!

  11. April 13, 2014 / 11:00 pm

Don’t do it gal! I always have post chop regret. I’m really happy my stylist talked me out of cutting it.

    • April 16, 2014 / 12:26 am

Can I like this 10,000 times? Thanks Arielle! I experience that post chop regret 80% of the time – even cried myself to sleep after one time I really got a terrible cut ;|

  12. April 14, 2014 / 1:50 am

If you’re gonna do it. I suggest you go to Beauty Brick. The cutter there, Mr. Shin, knows how to copy a haircut from a photograph. At least in my experience he does.

    • April 16, 2014 / 12:35 am

Thanks for the reco, Rae. I’ve never heard of Beauty Brick pa ah (not surprising since I almost never get any haircuts haha).. where is it located? I’ll google!

      • April 16, 2014 / 11:32 pm

Jupiter Street (Makati) – kaso you got your haircut na ata.

I have a round face too and I’ve tried a pixie cut when I was in first year high school (which is like eons ago), but I heard people say back then that it looks good on me. But now I don’t want to try it, because I might regret it.

I’ve never tried a cropped top before, are you sure you’re a mom now? How come you don’t have stretch marks! Lucky you!

    • April 16, 2014 / 12:43 am

Marj! I think a pixie cut will definitely not suit me 🙁 Iiyak ako talaga. Last time I had a pixie cut was back when I was in 5th grade pa!! And talagang hagulgol ako that time to my mom. Haha!

And I luckily didnt have stretch marks because my weight gain during pregnancy was gradual and not biglaan – that’s how you get stretchmarks daw. 🙂

  15. April 14, 2014 / 11:40 am

How did you loose your baby belly so quick? Envy :/

    • April 16, 2014 / 12:45 am

Hee! Grace, I used the Belly Bandit for almost 5 months 24/7 which shrunk my belly fast! 🙂 I highly recommend it!

  18. April 14, 2014 / 6:07 pm

SEXY!!!!!!!!!! How many times have I said this na ba?! Haha! I have round face and I dare not cut my hair! Taba ko kaya! 🙁

I’m guessing that’s the NARS Palette! I can’t wait for your review! 😉

Hahaha the swatches on the arm are priceless, looks kinda cool 😀
Love your make up and sexy crop top!
I’ve always wished for long hair, but it looks awful on me. I love yours, but I still think you would look lovely with shorter hairdo too. I say go for it, after all, it will grow back again!

    • April 16, 2014 / 12:47 am

I always tell myself that to be honest – ‘its just hair it’ll grow back again!’
Then find myself counting the days to when I’ll get my long hair back. It’s a vicious cycle. I guess we will never ever be content! Haha. And thanks for the compliments Keitidear!!

  20. April 14, 2014 / 11:04 pm

I super love this look Shari! You look absolutely stunning! I think you nailed it with this take your time makeup look – now I need to check the on the go since that might suit a Momma like me hehe xx
