Another month, another set of products I enjoyed testing, using, rediscovering. Without further chitchat, I’ll get on with it starting with two new lip products that earned an unexpected love from me – Bobbi Brown Pink Kiss and Sephora Rouge Cream in Hot Tango. Pink Kiss (review here) is a pale pink that I didn’t think would suit me at all but surprisingly wore well against my yellow-toned Asian skin. It didn’t wash me out or make me look sick like most pale pinks usually do. I like that even if it’s not moisturizing, it doesn’t dry my lips further. Hot Tango is a gift from my mom who recently went to Singapore and quite enjoyed herself in the massive Sephora store over there. It is a bright true red with a hint of orange (Sephora says it’s pink-red, I disagree) that I refused to wear at first, but when I did, the husband commented that he actually likes it. The formula is a cream that feels like a satin with opaque color pay-off in one swipe. Full review soon.febfave3B

Stila In the Light palette

Unearthed from the stash, Stila In the Light used to be one of my favorite palettes because I love love the Kitten shade, which you can see is the most abused pan (Bubbly on the lower left isn’t counted because it was destroyed). Pigmentation for this palette is amazing, with smooth almost-buttery texture that could rival Urban Decay’s. However, most of the shades are frosted so I couldn’t really use this on a daily basis much as I want. febfave4

Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation

No surprise here. I’ve been using Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation almost everyday the past month because it just gives the most natural finish with medium coverage sans the heaviness. I really like that it doesn’t cling on to my dry flakies especially since I’ve been battling dryness on my cheeks for quite some time now. Hydrating without being too oily. This may just reach HG status even if I don’t proclaim HGs because of my so-called “sense of adventurism” in beauty products. (full review here) febfave5

Pixi Beauty Radiance Powder

I have been on a highlighter stage ever since I discovered how to use them properly starting with Burberry Nude Radiance. For a subtle not-so-in-your-face-Galadriel-like-glow though, I’ve been turning to this Pixi Radiance powder that gives off a very delicate hint of sheen that wakes up the complexion without emphasizing ze pores. febfave6B

D&G L’Imperatrice

L’Imperatrice is a light scent with notes of watermelon, kiwi, pink cyclamen (no idea how this smells though! um, I even had to look up what it is exactly) and musk. It’s aquatic-fruity and instantly makes me reminisce my childhood memories of eating watermelons by the beach. It’s a happy fragrance, nothing too serious. I wouldn’t exactly rate it as one of my top favorites, but I enjoy using it now and especially in the upcoming summer days ahead.

Klorane Dry Shampoo

I am an everyday hair-washer. But I’ve recently kept to heart that I should at least wash it every other day so it doesn’t rid itself of the natural oils that keep the scalp and hair from drying out. And so, I’ve been using this Klorane Dry Shampoo on my no-wash days and let me tell you, I enjoy it. I’ve used the Dove Dry Shampoo that OMGOD dries my hair out like I’ve used hair spray all over so I’ve tossed that out early on. Klorane actually makes my hair sexy and non-greasy that I’ve used up one can already. Seriously good stuff.

Bifesta Cleansing Lotion

I initally had apprehensions on using this because I am loyal to my Shu Uemura cleansing oils. But I felt guilty forking out Php4,000 for another bottle so I told myself I’ll try cheaper alternatives first. So I bought this Bifesta bottle but found that I had to use three pumps for one cotton pad to clean up half my face. In short, I use almost 9 pumps of this for one night of cleansing. Sooo wasteful! I decided to try a cheaper cleansing oil that we’ll hide by the name ZA Cleansing Oil… and my skin was ravaged. I think I was allergic to one of the ingredients (not sure) but my skin clearly didn’t react well with it that now, I’m still left with a lower left cheek filled with cystic acne and breakout scars *cry*. I’ve then gone back to using Bifesta and I’m now actually enjoying it that I’ve already bought a back-up bottle.

I just realized that it’s very rare for me to try new perfumes. Huh. I tried Bifesta but it stung my skin waaay too many times to count. That’s when I turned to the Za Cleansing Oil. Even though we both have combination skin, we reacted differently to the products (still so sorry D: ) l. That’s what skincare is all about for me. Finding what’s best for you.

This post made me want to pull out my Stila palettes. Thanks for the reminder!

Nice selection of products, i like reading about brands we dont have hear in the UK. I’m currently enjoying using a cleansing oil from ARK to remove my makeup, as well as some favourties from REN.

Ugh yes, that Klorane dry shampoo is da bomb. I can’t live without it. Staple forever. Stila In the Light has been an eyeshadow palette on my wishlist for so long now, it’s absolutely crazy. It should’ve been in my collection about 1.5 years ago! :p

Have you tried the Nature Republic Cleansing Oils? They’re great! They get rid of all make-up, even water-proof ones. It’s gentle and moisturizing on the skin. Plus, it’s only P600+. I haven’t tried the Shu Uemura, so I can’t compare. But I figure, it’s the same concept =)

It’s good to know that Bifesta worked for you because that damn thing broke me out like cuhraaaaazeee!! I still have numerous scars from it. Huhuhu. Oh well, I’m liking the Snoe Beauty Cleansing Oil so far 🙂

Thanks for sharing! I totally have Koh Gen Do foundation on my wish list, I realized expensive foundation is totally worth it. That pixi powder looks soo pretty too! I’m sorry to hear za cleansing oil broke you out! I’ve used that exact same cleansing water before and it’s fine on my face but I found it so useless at removing waterproof eye make up and cream shadow!
