Make some Noise for Tapage

For the last of my Chanel Spring 2014 picks, here is a beautiful is-it-a-pink-or-is-it-a-red-or-maybe-an-orange Le Vernis shade from the Notes de Printemps collection, Chanel Tapage. I actually wanted to pick up Charivari instead of this because of the name. Ummm… Sharivari guys. My name is almost but not quite there! But then practicality kicks in when I looked back and remembered quite a number of purples in my collection that almost don’t differ from each other so I passed on Shari, I mean, Charivari. (FYI: Did you know Tapage actually means ‘noise’ while Charivari means pandemonium? Now you do.) I know, I know, Tapage doesn’t look unique at all. But its bright beautiful shade just didn’t want me leaving the counter without it, so I grabbed it as well. Practicality leaves the building. I’m just a sucker for brights on my nails, lately. Probably just excited for summer so I’m slowly veering away from my go-to nudes and vamps. t3

Pink Coral Red.. what are you, Tapage!?

Tapage is a wee bit confusing (especially for a “colorblind” person like me who can’t differentiate reds). At first, under counter lighting, I thought it was pink! Then I wore it out, it began to look predominantly orange. And indoors, I was so certain it looks red. Soooo, I don’t really know which family shade to classify Tapage exactly.. a pinky coral red?Anyway, the formula is as divine as most Chanel creams – rich and creamy in application. Two coats for a beautiful glossy finish. Since I haven’t repurchased my two-months empty Seche Vite yet, the swatches above are sans topcoat.tapagecomp The closest shade to Tapage I own is Suspicious which is a true pink-red and has no hint of coral at all. I initially brought out a lot of pinks, reds, corals to compare but they all look way too different so I didn’t include them anymore. Final thoughts? Besides the reverberating voice in my head telling me to stop buying these Chanel polishes because of the price tag, I find Tapage to be a beautifully formulated bright shade for the summer ahead!

Whether it’s pink, orange or red- the fact still remains: Tapage is a beaut of a shade. You’re right Shari, it’s very appropriate and perfect for the upcoming summer months. I have yet to dip my fingers (and toes) into Chanel polishes but I have a feeling, all is about to change. 🙂

I find Tapage to be the prettiest amongst the three you swatched on your nails ^_^

Love it! This is one of those colors that looks different depending on the light. So it’s like getting several shades for the price of one, right? Which totally justifies the price. Am I right?! 😉 LOL @ Sharivari! You are nutty and I like it!
