The Relaunch of Poreless Perfection – Ellana Minerals

When the mineral makeup craze hit the beauty world, I think I was either sleeping through Calculus class or knee-deep in Accounting exams as I’ve read in other beauty blogs that mineral makeup was all the rage around 2008-2009. Thankfully, one of the pioneer mineral makeup brands during that time, Ellana Minerals, has decided to revamp its look and remind Filipinas now more than ever why mineral makeup is here to stay. Ellana Minerals cosmetics are paraben-free, oil-free and on top of that, non-comedogenic as well. They’re formulated with minerals that are supposedly good for the skin, instead of ordinary makeup that are chock full of fillers and other ingredients which are clogging to the pores. So if you’re like me, new to the world of mineral makeup, Ellana Minerals is a great brand to start the journey with.8The event set-up held in Rastro Burgos Circle was transformed into all kinds of rustic romance slash fairy goddess forest. It definitely made me more excited to see the products up close.

The Star of the Show

The best-selling product of the brand is their loose mineral foundation. Super soft and smooth goodness, finely-milled to the fullest that blends into the face seamlessly, leaving that poreless perfection and goddess complexion that the brand promises. Being averse to anything powder, I was quite impressed at how this mineral powder performed on my skin, dissipating into oblivion making me forget that I was wearing anything on my face at all. I will do a full review on this soon. I’ve already used two products, check it out here. I’m also most impressed with the shade range that the beautiful chemist behind the brand, Therese Carbonel, came up with. It features 12 Filipina skin-centric shades that vary from fair to morena skin taking into account the beige, yellow and neutral undertones of each. I was matched to Chai Tea Latte. For those of you who have trouble finding the exact shade in international brands that, let’s face it, cater to American or European skintones more often than not, I’m 99% sure that Ellana has a perfect shade match for you. 3b

Beautiful Illustrations by Soleil

Ellana Minerals enlisted the unique talents of Soleil Ignacio for their spankin’ new packaging. Beautiful watercolor illustrations grace all the revamped products of the brand. Don’t you just feel so calm and at peace looking at these illustrations? My Pokemon-gotta-catch-em-all senses are tingling wanting to collect all 5 products with these illustrations to display all together side by side.   Soleil-Ignacio-for-Ellana-Minerals4

All the Bright and Beautiful Faces

Say hello to the eager (and pretty!) beavers that graced the event. So nice to see you all, loves. Always love attending events because of you guys, hihi. Makeup chat galore! Tellie, Bea, Yuki, Carina, Yette, Kim, Mikki Thanks Yette for our photo together!5

The TWIN sister

The other star of the show is the pressed version of the loose foundation. For those ladies always on-the-go and have no time to carefully work with the delicate loose powder, you can avail of their newly-released pressed foundation. All the goods in the loose powder just bound together in a lovely compact. Perfect for touch-ups in the middle of the day, too.

Shari, try Fashion 21 Double Up Mascara. I tried a lot of expensive mascaras before but they all smudge at the end of the day and they don’t hold the curl. Double Up was such a pleasant surprise, and so cheap too! It adds volume by adding some fiber-like thingeys (I am terrible at describing stuff!) and is not a pain to remove (you just need water and soap). Give it a go!
