Chanel Le Vernis in Bel-Argus

Gosh! My second nail polish post in a month?! I never even posted any NOTDs nor nail polish reviews before Chanel Suspicious and now, I’m already (and at the same time, just only?!) on my second one. To be honest, I’ve been changing my nail color quicker than I publish any new entries on my blog. I’m really happy that I’ve polished up on nail lacquer application and am able to perform a decent manicure on myself sans sitting in the corner calming myself down because of frustration. I guess this serves as a heads up that you might be seeing more nail polish posts in this blog moving forward. Bel-Argus is a metallic blue nail polish that is part of the Summer 2013 Le Papillon collection. I still know very little nail polish jargon so I can’t fully describe it like expert nail bloggers can. All I know is it was a breeze to apply because it’s not as streaky as other metallics I own. Also, I like that it looks lighter and darker depending on lighting. In direct sunlight, it looks nothing short of amazing (see photos below). I would love to walk around with a daylight lamp iluminating on my hands all the time if I could. It is fully opaque in 2 coats (although I did apply the first coat a bit thick in some fingers that I ended up just leaving it as is with just one coat). Topped with Essie Good to Go, this lasted almost a whole week with very minimal to almost no tipwear on me. I skipped the protein base coat I usually wear beneath because it interfered with application (the base coat was kind of goopy already).
Outside in Direct Sunlight
At first, I didn’t think I would even like the color but Enzo picked it out for me and said it looks really nice so I gave in to buying it. But when I saw how it just sparkles like Edward Cullen in direct sunlight, my feelings have been slightly nudged. I began to like it and the longer I wore it on my hands, I grew to like it more.
I’m not a fan of blues actually but if I had to name a favorite blue, this would be a contender.
PS — I am well aware that this is overpriced expensive nail polish but I have passed above and beyond the point of rational and practical thinking! Here’s to crossing the bridge and never looking back!

That’s a very pretty color, Shari. Although, yeah, expensive but I can see that the way you loved the polish and the color itself totally justified the purchase. 🙂

Ganda, Shari! Blues and PInks anre my official polish colors! The most expensive polish that Ive bought are from China Glaze and ORLY only haha. I dont think I can cross ‘that’ bridge. Someday, I will! And I think what I’d get is a pretty nude color polish! 🙂

If you feel like exploring more blues, try cobalt or royal blue. But it’s a pain to remove. Parang indelible ink.

It is a very nice color! i think it is okay to splurge once in a while on a special shade like that, as it is a very special shade ^^
