Time for some skin loving
! I have mentioned that I’ve been on a skincare frenzy
lately, skipping out on makeup for serums, cleansers and toners. I don’t know what happened or how this new interest began but I’m glad it did (my husband isn’t though!). Anyway, before I give my two cents on face products, I want to be able to use them at least for three weeks so I can truly see its efficacy (or lack thereof!).
For now, let me share my newfound love for the brand LUSH
. I used to hate
, no abhor
the brand because just passing by their store gives me a massive headache. Thanks to the interwebs and beauty blogs (Ingrid
of Miss Glamorazzi and Muse
of Musings of A Muse) who have professed their love for it, I am officially hooked!
My very first Lush product was Lemony Flutter
and although it did its job in moisturizing my hands and feet, I hated the smell. It wasn’t lemony for me, it was more gingery, which I absolutely hate (I don’t eat ginger and I gag at the slightest hint of it).
With that, I was determined to buy another product that will change my first experience with Lush cos I truly didn’t want to end my venture with the brand with Lemony Flutter. I think I hit the jackpot with this one.
I was browsing through Lush
one day when the hubs and I were strolling Selene around the mall (it’s her happy place, I tell you. The little bugger is delighted whenever we’re at any mall!). I was sniffing, and swatching, so overwhelmed with all the splendid scents my senses can secure (yes such indeed that it deserved an alliteration!). One of those that I couldn’t put down was this — Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner
It acts like a hair conditioner, only it is for the whole body. You go on with your favorite body wash, scrub, what have you and when you’re done, you slap this runny bordering greasy lotion-like moisturizer on your whole bo-dey. It contains shea butter, argan oil (I love this!), almond oil (love this too!), brazil nut oil, vanilla pod infusion etc.
Rinse or don’t rinse, just pat dry et voila — you just put on lotion while in the shower! It does leave a moisturizing feel making the skin so soft, smooth and smelling so good. I swear, I’m one who hates thesticky icky lotion feeling but this one doesn’t feel oily (despite the number of oils it contains) or icky. The skin definitely drinks it up!
It’s supposed to smell like roses but having no idea what roses smell like, I would say the smell is a sweet, powdery cocoa butter with a slight floral hint (just a teensy bit). For the moisturizing properties, I would definitely vouch for it as I have dry skin all over and this helped smoothen things out. Even my husband noticed how soft and smooth my skin feels after this! He also tells me I’m too obsessed as I keep smelling myself every five minutes. I’ve never loved a scent this much apart from Chanel Chance and Elizabeth Arden Green Tea.
My only gripe is the jar packaging (Lush being an environment-friendly brand believes this is a good way of helping out), as I find scooping it out makes me use more product than I should even if with this product I’m okay with copious slathering. Also with such packaging, since I’m a bit clumsy, it’s easy to spill when I leave the jar open while I’m happily applying this to my body.
I can’t illustrate it justifiably, I would say just run out to Lush and try this baby out. It comes in a regular size jar that contains 2.4g but I grabbed the smaller size to sample it which only costs Php 250 or so (the regular jar amounts to Php1,200).
