Look at Me Now: Lorac Pro & NARS Bolero

How creative can my title get? I’ve been on a new-entry slump lately due to quite a busy schedule consisting of family time. Though I’m not complaining, I’m enjoying every minute of being a full-time hands-on momma to Selene. My makeup regimen recently has also been reduced to just concealer, lipstick and blush, thanks to my ongoing love affair with skin care products! I’m sorry if I’m cheating on you, my lipsticks and blushes.

Anyway, moving on to today’s entry — I decided to go with an Easter appropriate lip shade which is NARS Bolero. A very light pink reminiscent of Easter eggs and the Easter Bunny (even if I don’t associate him with pink and cuddly anymore after watching The Rise of the Guardians).
I’ve also recently changed my hair color from a very light brown base to a more toned down darker brown with gold and copper highlights. I don’t know how I feel about it until now as I tend to get bored with my hair easily. I want to chop it all off but knowing how my face shape doesn’t agree with shorter lengths, I’m always left with a few long-hairstyle choices.

Going back, NARS Bolero is a velvet matte lip pencil which I absolutely love the light pink color with a slight touch of coral but absolutely hate how it clings on to the dry patches of my lips and makes it even drier than a mothereffer. Just look at my icky lips, shux. The shade though reminds me of Betty Bright, which I am awaiting to receive in the post today. I’m hoping it’s close even if Betty seems to lean more coral and the pink is darker.
Eyeshadows haven’t seen my lids in weeks as I feel like it’s the most effort-filled makeup task and I simply am too lazy to blend away, even if I’ve recently gotten my hands on new MAC brushes. However, I made an exception for today since I feel wearing NARS Bolero without eye makeup looks a bit off-putting on me. For that I whipped out my Lorac Pro Palette, which I have yet to make a review on. However, I’d take this with me in my makeup bag if I had to choose an eyeshadow palette to bring travelling as opposed to deciding between the Naked 1 or 2.
For this look, I used the three hearted shades above. Nude all over, Pewter blended on to Nude and Taupe on the crease and for blending the first two shades. Simple and for the lazy. I’m definitely impressed by the matte shades in this palette, as with the satin and shimmery ones.

For now, I’ll leave this entry as is because I’m suffering a muscle spasm in both my arms which hopefully isn’t carpal-tunnel syndrome. It’s probably due to the extended time I hold Selene when I breastfeed her. It’s been going on for a few days now which is also why I can’t get myself to write a decent blog post because just resting my arms on the laptop as I’m about to type hurts like hell. This very short post took me almost an hour to finish because I had to keep on resting in between typings. My hands/arms/wrists bid you ta-ta for now.

Thanks Ms. E! Based on others’ review, di siya sobrang drying pero since dry na lips ko in the first place, naging drying pa siya lalo.

You still look pretty no matter what hair color you choose 😀 I wanna try that lorac palette sometime but I wanna try UD naked palette muna, and the color of your lippe looks so refreshing♥

I’m torn between Naked 1 & Lorac Pro! Mukhang mas okay the Lorac one but how’s the quality? x

I think what makes this great is the color diversity. I love me my Naked palettes but it gets tiring to use the same neutral brown, taupe shades. The purples and pinks included here, not to mention the half matte, half shimmer combination make it a winner. The quality is a pinky shy of UD. Almost same consistency and pigmentation, but Lorac has minimal fallout. 🙂 If you’re not into other colors and more on neutral, I’d go for Naked. Pero if you want variety (plus need more mattes), Lorac!

You should use a breastfeeding pillow so that you can rest her there while feeding and not have to hold/carry her the whole time.

hey shari!! 🙂 stumbled upon your blog 🙂 the nars looks a lot like betty bright but i think betty bright is brighter and its a lot pinker than coral. its as bright as viva nicki-ish. it makes my dry patches obvious too. i have the lorac pro palette too and i tried on the shimmery ones and the glitters fall out 🙁 but i love the matte ones. 🙂

and congrats on your baby girl! miss you! – mia e. 🙂
