4U2 i-Pro Eyeshadow Palette in Modern

Eyeshadow application has got to be one of the toughest challenges in my makeup routine. For some reason, my non-existent Art skills are manifesting in putting on eyeshadow on myself or on other people. I just can’t seem to create a decent look — I get so frustrated! However, during the past months (since I got pregnant which made me have all the time in the world!), I have been practicing this skill quite so often when I do my makeup. I would like to say I’ve improved already but I’ll let you be the judge of that!

Sorry for the messy palette. One of the pans broke during our flight back to Manila. Anyway, before I show you my ‘work of art‘, I’d like to share my thoughts on a very affordable eyeshadow palette I used on this look which I purchased back in a Watson’s drugstore at Bangkok — 4U2 I-Pro Professional Make-up Palette in Modern. I’ve been so keen on getting the Naked or Naked2 palette but I would hate for my money to go to waste considering I absolutely suck at putting on eyeshadow. I wanted to perfect the skill first before I invest in such big guns as the Naked palettes. However, this 4U2 palette has definitely exceeded my expectations, especially since it only retails for around Php990!

The packaging is a sturdy, solid plastic black casing that houses 8 shimmery neutral eyeshadows. It actually weighs a bit heavier compared to other palettes. For each pan, you get 2.5g of product, compared to regular MAC eyeshadows that contain 1.5g of product only.

The pigmentation is astounding for a drugstore brand. The shadows above were all swiped only once. Definitely great color pay-off! The last four shadows are more pigmented than above (see picture below for the actual first swipe). The texture is so buttery and soft, not at all dry nor powdery. The messy glitters are due to my own clumsiness while swatching the products, they don’t fall out quite as easily, I assure you. I don’t experience fallout as much as other drugstore eyeshadows I’ve used.

The average length of wear is a full day — 8 hours or so with very minimum fallout and that’s without eye primer! Most of the time, I wear MAC Paint Pot in Painterly when I want it to last until night time.

Easily breaks! When I unpacked this from my luggage, one palette has already crumbled! I just fixed it with alcohol (which I learned in Pinterest!) to make it whole again but I believe it’s very sensitive.
Also, no matte shades (not even just one) found in this palette. I guess they have their other palettes for that but I hope they included at least one.
This is one look I created from this palette. I used three shades —the white one for the inner corners and browbones, the light bronze shade for lids and darker bronze for the outer corners. A very simple look!

Final thoughts: Will I repurchase this palette?

I think I’m ready for my Naked or Naked 2 palette!
However, for those on a budget and don’t want to shell out Php3000 for an eyeshadow palette yet, this is your greatest bet!

Great pigmentation, minimal fallout and long-lasting wear for only 1/3 the price of high-end palettes.

I want this!!! pero hindi ata cya available locally..wahh~ I want a Naked too but the price is just too steep! 3K is just way too expensive for me although there raves on them but I think I’d rather search for a cheaper alternative. I’m currently eyeing the MUA undresses mukhang similar cya with Naked and its cheaper too! ^_~

I think your eye makeup turned out pretty great!! You do have skills girl and practice makes perfect 😉

That palette looks good for a drugstore product, maybe a bit too shimmer for my taste, but sure worth having. You’ll love the Naked palettes!

  19. October 30, 2012 / 10:58 am

I love 4U2! I have two of their lipsticks (long lasting!) And I have their eyeshadow, too. I was about to buy that pallete but I decided to try their shadows with smaller packaging first. And i love it! Pretty long lasting and has good quality nga.

And you did a great job! I’m still new to putting on eyeshadow. :/

  20. October 30, 2012 / 12:23 pm

What a stunner of a drugstore palette! All the shades are so pigmented, and I love how it looks on you! I think it’s harder to get mattes right though. Maybe that’s why there aren’t so many good ones from drugstore brands.

  21. October 30, 2012 / 12:35 pm

love the nude colors. it looks good on you. i really wish i will have enough time like you to learn how to apply shadow. (except being pregnant) ;-D

  22. October 30, 2012 / 12:39 pm

What are you talking about? You did a great job!!

  23. October 30, 2012 / 12:41 pm

Wow, that’s a great set of bright neutrals. It’s a shame that it’s so fragile!

And I say go for the Naked palettes, they’re to die for!! Quite expensive but definitely worth every peso. They’re the two palettes I reach out for most of the time 🙂

  28. October 30, 2012 / 4:33 pm

That is such a fun, shimmery palette! I love all of the warm tones for Fall. Wish I could get my hands on an afforable one similar Canada. Like you, I don’t want to invest in an expensive ‘big girl’ one until I perfect my eye shadow application as well 🙂

    Love your blog,

  29. October 30, 2012 / 5:39 pm

  32. October 31, 2012 / 12:38 am

You are so pretty! Your makeup looks wonderful as well. Sorry to hear the palette breaks easily, shame because the colours look so gorgeous.

  33. October 31, 2012 / 6:46 am

Hi Sharina! I love the palettes! Its my kind of make up color. 🙂

  34. October 31, 2012 / 10:46 am

Nice palette shari! But I think they don’t have this here 🙁 the colors are good pa naman. I hope you can also post how you fix your palette i have several broken make ups too that need fixing. Have you tried the bb powder of 4u2? It works wonders for my face! Hihi loving youe posts! :))

  35. October 31, 2012 / 5:44 pm

wow this palette looks amazing love the pigmentation! xx

  36. November 1, 2012 / 11:11 am

Oh how I love your photos! And we have a palette that’s sort of along the same lines as this one (except it hasn’t broken on me yet) and it’s a BYS one. Same problem of no matte shades though. I own the Naked2 and I think I wish I got the Naked instead which apparently has warmer colors! So just a heads up!

  37. November 3, 2012 / 5:36 am

I actually love 4U2 eye shadows. They’re very pigmented and long wearing. My only issue with most (if not all) of their palettes is the lack of matte shades. Even a single matte shade would do wonders para hindi naman puro shimmer lang (at least that’s my preference ^_^).
    This palette looks gorgeous though!

  38. November 4, 2012 / 12:35 pm

this looks so so gorgeous! I love shimmer on the eyes! following your blog now:D! <3

  39. November 5, 2012 / 10:12 am

The colors are gorgeous! 😀 And I love the look you did. I wish I could to that too! I suck at blending. Haha 🙂

  40. January 5, 2013 / 3:45 pm

this is nice ha, the palette is heavy nga lang. I know they already have the palette with all matte and the e/s are pigmented also. 🙂
