Wine & Dine
Gone are the days I go out and ‘party’ with friends ’til the wee mornings. Not only do I not have the drinking tolerance I once had, I rarely have the energy to stay past 12 midnight if it’s not in my bed, with a facial mask and watching Netflix in my pajamas. Occasional birthdays and weddings are an exception. Just recently, we attended a friend’s wedding out of town which was my first ‘sleepover’ without the kids for a long time and I was asleep by 12 midnight (yabang ko pa I was telling everyone, “it’s Momma’s night off! WOO!” earlier that day).
But we all need a little night out sometimes. Mommas, you get me. Much as we love our kids, we need to unwind, unplug and actually talk to adults our age – from time to time. I don’t know how many times I realize I’m so cranky and irritable na pala and all I needed was a little time-off – a mani, pedi or even a coffee date with a friend. So sometime last month, I asked a few friends to join me in a “Tita” night of wine, good food and catching up at Finestra, Solaire. Here’s what happened…
Say hello to my friends Tats, Toni and Pau. We were also with my sister dear who took this photo.
Welcome cocktails in celebration of their newly-launched – Bella Notte – literally means Ladies’ Night in Italian.
“Here’s to all our deadlines for the week.. let’s forget about them tonight!”
They had such a comfy couch (and delightful cocktails) we almost forgot we were having dinner that night.
Filing this for the future #homebargoals.
Yes, that couch feels as comfy as it looks.
Tats, my childhood friend who owns Seoul’d Out Manila. To all K-Pop fans out there, message her if you need any K-POP needs as her second hometown is Korea. LOL. No joke.
For your accounting needs, my CPA friend Pauline is ready to do your dirty bookkeeping and auditing.
The creative in the group – Toni. She can do anything artsy fartsy – from wall murals and design backdrops to wedding calligraphy and art needs. She’s also a furniture and home interior expert. Daming skills!
Such a majestic dining room.
Of course, my sestra. Also an interior designer, creative director and all-around cool aunt in the family. For this night out, she served as our photographer slash art director.
Our menu for that night prepared by Chef Alan Marchetti himself.
Alaskan crab cake. This was extra tasty – I loved every bite.
HEAVEN. This was risotto porcini – creamy and perfectly cooked risotto on top of melts-in-your-mouth foie gras. Ughhh, dreaming of this tonight.
The other main course – grilled yellow fin tuna. Perfectly seared and seasoned.
The faces of happiness!
Just when we thought our dinner was over, a bar cart filled with chocolate stopped by to complete our Finestra experience.
Loved the open kitchen. Kept staring at how the chefs worked – waiting for a Hell’s Kitchen moment. Haha!
Hi Chef! He’s no Gordon Ramsay when it comes to temper.
A better view of the dining hall. What a beaute!
Fireworks! Don’t expect, friends. This was a display for a wedding – akala ko para samin. Hahaha!
We were so kilig to have Chef Alan check up on us and how we found the food and the overall experience.
Cheers to more nights like this one, friends!
