Make Up For Ever
Pro SCULPTING Collection Spring summer 2016
If there’s one brand to come out with a “PRO SCULPTING” collection that will have my attention without intimidating me too much (okay fine, a little) – you bet your Kim K cheeks it’s Make Up For Ever. I’ve always thought of MUFE (please get on with the nickname!) as the dependable, “dual-purpose” brand that caters both to pro make up artists and amateurs like me. It sort of extends its professional-use makeup range to us mere self-taught makeup junkies so we don’t have to scramble for pro products online or abroad.
But apart from its professional feel, they have really beautiful “consumer” collections that have me pining as well. Their limited edition eyeshadow palettes are always sold out because of their amazing quality, feel and texture – not to mention the long-lasting power of the shadows. Their Lip Pencil #23 is Victoria Beckham’s staple, while their nude MAT 1 lipstick is Maggie Wilson’s.
Pro Sculpting Face Palette #30
Do not be intimidated! I know I was. I mean, how do I even use that orange shade on the far right!? This looks exactly like those pro sculpting palettes that make up artists use on you on weddings, photoshoots, special occasions, right? It’s a four-in-one cream palette that helps sculpt, contour, and define your face seamlessly. Included is 1 matte face highlight, 1 matte contour shade, 1 iridescent cheek highlight, and 1 cheek color (it’s blush pala!). I absolutely love how creamy the formula of these palettes are as they easily blend out and don’t crease or cake at all. Seamless blending, I promise ya.
Sculpting Palette in Action
I contoured my forehead, cheeks, nose (not shown in middle photo cos I forgot) – you can also contour your jaws although I didn’t in this photo. The brown looks stark and scary but it seamlessly blended out as a nice shadow in the end.
Pro Sculpting Lip #50
I like the “duo theme” in this collection – such as this 2-in-1 Pro Sculpting Lip. The first end is the lip applicator which is rounded giving you control over the product. The other end is a sponge applicator filled with a cream to powder highlighter which can be used to accentuate your cupid’s bow as well as to create an ombre lip, should you feel adventurou. Not just that, you can also use the highlight to clean and sculpt around the lips, your eyebrow arch and even your inner tear ducts. The Shade 50 is a beautiful deep, bloody red. The lipstick formulation is a nice, creamy texture that glides on to the lips with ease. It doesn’t really set so it moves quite a bit throughout the day.
Shade 50 reminds me of MAC Viva Glam I. The highlighter is a subtle, iridescent purple.
Pro Sculpting Brow
These eyebrow pencils are my the bomb. It’s 3-in-1 and function like a mini brow kit in one handy pen. The pen contains a brow pencil, spoolie and soft tip highlighter. I LOVE THE PENCIL FORMULATION. It goes off naturally but defines quickly, without having to go over one too many times for a lazyass like me who takes forever to do her non-existent brows. The highlighter isn’t something I would use all the time though as I prefer a more matte, concealer cream type to clean and define. But the spoolie is – as always – very useful. Definitely including these in one of my top favorite eyebrow pens!
Forgot to take a photo of the third part – the soft tip highlighter. The eyebrow pencil reminds me of the Hourglass Eyebrow Pencil.
A short heads up, the palette isn’t included in this collection. It comes out separately which I will also review separately! But back to the Pro Sculpting Collection, what do you think? Contour everyday, game?
