Colourpop Blush

Between the Sheets
Blush. There’s this love-hate relationship between us. I love that it adds color to my rather sallow complexion sometimes most of the time but I hate that given the ‘variety’ of shades I have, they all register almost the same on my cheeks. Which is why it’s the color makeup product I’m least interested in when I’m at a counter. Besides the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes that ‘revolutionized’ the blush species with its magical~ powders, what else could be new with blush? I’m getting bored with it! Lipstick shades at least vary on me even if they look identical in tube.
Nothing particularly “new” or revolutionary with this Colourpop blush but for some reason it has gotten me to wearing the boring stuff again! I love the particular shade – Between the Sheets – on my cheek-a-wow-wows. It’s described as a midtone beige pink. But that’s simplifying it! This shade has a mixture of pink, coral and slightly brown-rosy tones that it’s too pink to consider it as a peachy nude and too muted that it can’t be just a coral either.
The texture is somewhat of a creamy cushion, almost as if your fingers could bounce back if you press into the blush with pressure. It’s squishy but not overly melty and doesn’t have much slip like most regular cream blushes. It has a powdery matte finish and lasts a good amount of time – around 7-8 hours – despite its very lightweight feel. It has great pigmentation with just one swipe and blends out easily, but don’t leave it on unblended for a while as it stains. You have to blend it out right away after applying.

This is such a bad swatch – lighting just makes it seem pink but it really isn’t.

Final Thoughts
I just use my fingers for this blush. I find that using a stippling brush best for when you’re going for a very subtle look. I applied it a bit heavily here so it’ll show through in the camera. It looks like a peachy coral on my cheeks almost similar to NARS Gina and MAC Melba. But in person, it appears to have more pink in it. What I love most about these is that they blend in seamlessly with your skin so it appears natural.
Have you tried any of these Colourpop blushes? If you haven’t you should!

Blush is also my least favorite makeup product. Like you, even different shades appear similar on my skin.

Yeah, I’ve been meaning to try ColourPop for a loooooonng time now but the shade variety drives me nuts! There’s a whole lot of eyeshadows, bronzers, highlighters, and lip colors to choose from. I want majority of them and I can’t pick one. What’s a makeup lover to do eh?
