While my last post was sponsored, my feelings sadly weren’t *cue in a dramatic melody*. I found it so coincidental (?) that I was tasked to do a “happy post” during a not-so-happy period in my life, hah! Maybe it was the universe’s way of pushing me to stop wallowing in my misery (thank you, universe!). So here I am! I initially wanted to do a first impressions post on “new things” I’ve recently received but ended up grabbing some of my favorites and go-tos instead. Because you know — nothing makes you feel better than getting in touch with what’s familiar, what’s already there. WOW. Okay, enough drama! Let’s talk makeup.
The Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation is my go-to liquid foundation for when I want to look even all over without looking like I have foundation on. The shade I have it in, OC-2, is an exact match for my skintone (I initially thought it was darker). Just two pumps slathered all over my face and blended with my fingers. The Laura Mercier Artist’s Palette is one of my favorite palettes of all time – the purples in this set are just beautiful against my skintone. The ZA Cosmetics concealer isn’t a heavy duty concealer, but it covers up and brightens nicely without caking which is why it remains a favorite in my books.
NARS Gina is my most used blush among my NARS blushes – it’s a true tangerine that doesn’t turn pink on my cheeks unlike other peachy blushes. NARS Albatross, a highlighter, isn’t really one of my go-tos but I decided to whip it out for this look just to really bring out the ‘glow’ (I NEED IT). Lastly, my ultimate favorite plum lipstick, NARS Vivien, serves as the icing on top.
I probably should have worn a smile, as well. But oh well – this would have to do. I’m off to a beautiful island this weekend so no updates ’til I get back!
