Ahhh Sunday, I finally have some time to catch my breath. I’m posting my workspace to inspire and motivate myself for the upcoming week a.k.a deathly crunch time for our shoe brand launch. I caught a bacterial illness the past week (due to my low immune system thanks to sleepless nights and stress) so I was nursing my violently stuffed nose, extreme dizziness, disgusting-sounding cough and high fever in bed for two days. Because there is no such things as a sick leave for “work at home” gals, I had to suck it up during the second day and arise from my workspace slash recovery room a.k.a the bed and test drive the Chevy Sonic (a campaign I accepted for the blog). It was only going to be with me for a few days (and one of the days was coding day so WOW). Even squeezed in a meeting and an event while I was at it (which turned out to be a baaaad idea because I was left weaker and sick-er at the end. Good job, me).
So Selene and I packed our stuff and temporarily set up camp at my parents’ after that day because I was too sick to care for myself AND Selene. I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy to hear my mom say, “SEE! I told you what would happen if you don’t take care of your self. Your body will feel the effects! You’re not getting any younger. You need to learn how to take care of yourself. Drink your vitamins, etc. etc.” Music to my ears, you guys. Especially after the deafening silence at home while I was nursing myself (Selene was out with my mom-in-law during the day while I was sick). I’m telling you guys, those still living with your parents, treasure your momma’s words of wisdom! Savor those seemingly nagging reminders and constantly checking up on you if you’re still healthy, breathing and/or alive… you’ll miss it when you move out, especially when you get sick. She cooked chicken soup for me that afternoon and constantly checked up on me if I needed anything. Buckets of tears were shed that night.
On another note, I’m back on my feet and feeling much better (albeit nose still stuffed up and voice not back to normal). And I’m inviting you all RIGHT NOW, yes AT THIS MOMENT, to check out @meninastepph on Instagram. We’re rolling out the beauty and style bloggers we’ve collaborated with for our debut collection. We have three more bloggers to introduce this week! We also have a short video clip which we’ll be sharing on our Facebook Page this week as well. A light, casual video of all the bloggers during the shoot. Please do drop by our pop-up on May 30-31 in Powerplant Mall, Rockwell. We’ll be stationed in front of Zara. It’s open to all so feel free to say hi and try on the shoes.
That’s it for my Sunday ramble. Thanks for all the support on this shoe brand launch, you guys! Appreciate the motivating messages from my last Catch Up post. Have a great week ahead!
