You have to get rid of all of your foundations and only keep one high-end and one drugstore, which do you keep?
This question made me realize I’ve to do some destashing soon as I reach for the same bottles over and over again. Such a hard question to keep just one high-end though. Can I choose three? For light-medium coverage, the Koh Gen Do Aqua and Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation. For medium-full coverage, new to my stash but have loved it at first application — the Shiseido UV Protective Stick Foundation. These are the ones in my stash that don’t accentuate dry patches which is my struggle with foundations. For drugstore, not that I’ve tried a lot to really have a hard time making a decision – I’d go with Happy Skin Don’t Mad, Get Even Hydrating Liquid Foundation.
You go for an interview and the lady interviewing you has lipstick on her teeth. Do you approach the subject or ignore it completely?
I can point it out after greeting each other to throw her off a bit and direct her focus somewhere else other than my nervousness. But then it can also work against me as she may be a bitch about it afterwards and go hard on me during the interview. So yes, pointing it out is a risk. If I’m feeling particularly worried about my interview that day, I think I may just shut up and go on without mentioning it.

You’re not feeling yourself and you need a pick-me-up lipstick, which do you go for?
Hands down, my instant ‘I feel pretttty (when I’m really looking shitty)‘ lipstick of choice is the NARS Audacious in Viven. That reminds me, I want more Audacious!! I hope NARS restocks soon.
You go back in time for a day to your teenage years, how would you do your hair or makeup differently?
Looking back at my teenage years, I realized I’ve never really cared so much about my looks. Makeup wasn’t in my vocabulary yet. I’d go to school with wet hair, dark circles, dry lips and genuinely wasn’t conscious about how I looked. Thoughts about being too fat, not skinny enough, not flawless enough weren’t thoughts my friends and I talked about. Since social media wasn’t as impactful then, no one really cared about how they’d look in photos. I was in 1st year high school when Friendster exploded (and then Multiply!) and even then, we’d take photos without really caring as much as teenagers do now. Ridiculous as it may sound, I wouldn’t change a thing. I quite enjoyed not caring about how I looked then and how we were focused on actually living in the moment rather than getting prepared for them and documenting them.

You ask your hairdresser for a shoulder length Pixie Lott hair cut but they hear wrong and give you a pixie cut, what do you do?
A) Smile, say thank you, call your mum and cry hysterically B) Cry in the chair and things get awkward C) Complain to the manager and demand a refund
I actually experienced this – my mom told our long-time hairdresser to cut my hair like my sister, but the hairdresser thought of the wrong sister. The one my mom was referring to was my sister with a long bob, but the hairdresser thought of my youngest sister who had a pixie-ish cut. Letter B happened. I cried, complained to my mom, made things awkward and left the salon vowing never to go back there again. At the moment, if this happened — I would probably be so shocked at the first huge snip that I won’t be able to do any of the three mentioned above.
Your friend surprises you with a 4 day city break and you have one hour to pack, which ‘Do It All’ palette do you pack in your makeup bag?
My Do-it-All palette is the NARS Voulez Vous Palette (review). It’s a cheek and eye palette so I get 4 eyeshadows and 2 blushes to work with during those 4 days.
Your house has been robbed, don’t worry everyone is safe, but your beauty stash has been raided. What’s the product you really hope is safe?
I love that this assumes my beauty stash would be the first thing I’d think about if our house gets robbed. And that would be one incompetent thief if he/she took makeup instead of the more important, more liquid items. But fine, let’s say it was in fact a makeup thief, I’d probably be worried about the things I wouldn’t be able to easily get a hold of here in the Philippines – namely Tom Ford, Burberry, Hourglass, Dolce & Gabbana. Especially my Burberry Nude Radiance highlighter… anything but that please!
Your friend borrows makeup and returns it in an awful condition. Do you:
A) Pretend you haven’t noticed B) Ask them to re-purchase it C) Secretly do it back to their makeup
If I lent my friend makeup, it means I trust her enough to return it in good condition AND if it comes back in an awful one, I trust that she would be apologetic about it. If she’s not, I’d just joke about it with her and get over it. No point in ruining our friendship over makeup, good Lord.

These questions… they amuse me. The scenarios are so bizarre yet it could actually happen!

If you point out to your interviewer that she has lipstick on her teeth and she gets back at you for that, my god, what a petty biatch she would be! I would rather someone (even a stranger) point that out than look in the mirror later and discover that I’ve been interviewing you for the past hour or so with my teeth stained and you didn’t even say anything about it.

Ah so much fun reading your answers 🙂 So true about school days. I never bothered with hair and makeup either! Thanks for the tag, Shari.

The interviewer with the lipstick on her teeth set my mind reeling. :)) At least, you have the guts to tell her about it. I’m too non-confrontational, so it’s the same with the friend-borrowing-makeup scenario. I’d go as far as to joke about it, but I wouldn’t raise a stink.

Hey Shari, thanks for the tag! Just thinking about these questions gives me a bit of high blood pressure LOL So sorry to hear your hairdresser thought of the wrong sister! Scary scary thing! If my house were robbed, I’d be praying for the safety of my LE products. The permanent ones you can still rebuy, but man I have accumulated some beautiful LE pieces that I just don’t want to lose!

Thanks for the tag! I’m currently drowning in draft posts and this is gonna be a fun respite. Wish we did this on our “talk show” though :))))))

PREACH! “I quite enjoyed not caring about how I looked then and how we were focused on actually living in the moment rather than getting prepared for them and documenting them.” I can’t clap for this answer enough! I feel so blessed that social media wasn’t a thing yet when I was in school and we were free to just experience life firsthand and not try to have a perfect online “presence.” A brand needs that, a 14 year old child does not! I don’t know how kids do it these days. I’m just happy I didn’t have to worry about it when I was growing up! Great post, Shars Bears!

Thanks for the tag, I really like the questions! If my makeup collection got stolen, I’d die, lol!

Ay, thanks for tagging me! I CAN’T IMAGINE YOU WITH PIXIE-CUT HAIR THOUGH. I JUST CAN’T (probably because you’re always sporting such hairp0rn waves!) I’ve lent makeup to friends before, and they always came back in decent quality. Honestly, I wouldn’t be too mad over awful condition because AYYY LESS PRODUCT FOR ME TO GET THROUGH (jks)(but seriously, loaning out makeup to friends is the actual best because I need serious help getting through all my stuff :()
