A Concealer Worth Looking Into

ellis-faas-concealer-2Conceal, don’t feel. Don’t let them know.FYI, this Frozen song was actually about concealers, if you didn’t know. “Well, now you know…” I’ve darker than black holes (sorry, on an Interstellar high) circles that look like I haven’t slept for weeks, but I let myself believe otherwise. I would also like to spare others from my horrible eye luggages so if you ask me what one makeup product I can not live without, it would be concealer, no doubt. I’ve an army of concealers from drugstore to high-end which I can talk about endlessly but for now, let’s discover more about this bullet beauty – the Ellis Faas concealer pen. ellis-faas-concealer-3 ellis-faas-concealerellis-faas-concealer

Ellis Faas

Concealer Pen
If you’re not in the market for a concealer, then just ogle at the badass packaging of this concealer, won’t you? This Ellis Faas concealer has a smooth, thin silky texture that made me think it wouldn’t cover anything up because it was too lightweight. I was surprised to find that it actually has medium-full buildable coverage. For bumpy scars/spots/pimples – this is impeccable as it is lightweight and thin, which means it doesn’t cake up no matter what. For blemishes, it hides them perfectly with the “dot-dot, tap-tap + add another layer and blend” method.
I would definitely have to call the finish ‘natural‘ – because there were a few times I forgot I was wearing concealer as I glanced upon myself in a mirror but thought to myself, “wow my eye cream must be working“. Which means that it covered up my dark circles nicely but not completely that it looked like I had concealer on. You know what I mean? I have to build it up more for fuller coverage.
However, I’m quite satisfied with how it looks with one and a half layer (see above) so I leave it as is. What I’m over the moon about is I find this… moisturizing? Something I don’t particularly look for at all in a concealer because I’ve accepted the fact that I suffer from chronic undereye dryness (dark and dry undereyes, ugh). But with this on, I’ve experienced no cracking, creasing, drying which I encounter (and shrug off) with most concealers (NARS, Collection 2000, etc). Granted those are the heavier duty (higher coverage) ones. I find this lasts a good 6 hours on me before disappearing – without creasing.
Minor Issues. Because this is one of those clickety-clackety pens, the amount of concealer dispensed out of the tube is inconsistent. Sometimes with 6 clicks I get barely half of what I need for one eye, sometimes it’s too much that it leaves me thinking, “okay, so this is foundation for the day“. But basically, that’s it – that’s my only gripe. I’ve been using this alternately with my NARS concealer – which I’m about to finish – and I think I won’t be repurchasing the NARS concealer right after. So yes, good stuff – this Ellis Faas concealer.

The before and after really does show how well this works! The packaging is to die for, as well!

Wow this looks GOOD on you! I like how skin-like it looks, and the shade seems to match you very well (btw, which one is it?)! Sorry to hear about the packaging issue though. I know the brand is known for the super cool bullet packaging, but the number of stories I’ve heard makes you wonder if they should re-package their good stuff 🙂

I like the entire concept of Ellis Faas products, haven’t tried any yet though. 🙂

NICE! We don’t get this brand here… too bad. I do like the Clinique Airbrush Concealer though. It’s more affordable, and the texture is good too. Well, it works for me, while I’ve read some negative reviews. To each her own!

My under eyes are the worst. 🙁 the only thing that can conceal them in a more natural way is my SSE. I find thay if I use concealer under my eyes, I look quute fake so I actually let tgem show through on most days! #selfconfidencebaito Haha but really, your underyes aren’t that bad! I’ve got classmates that have worse ones. Once school started my under eyes just went downhill. Third year stress.. Cool packaging too! I saw that there was a holder which you can assemble as a spine. Kinda like Lara Croft’s spine full of magazines!

Oh wow, I was never particular fussed about this brand but that before and after comparison photo. I feel like nothing is working for my under eye concealing lately so next trip to selfridges, I’m stopping at the Ellis Faas stand… xxx

Love the coverage on this one! If only it wasn’t a brush tip kind…it would totally make me buy it xD

  14. November 17, 2014 / 9:36 pm

Ahh, I like it so much better than my NARS, too! I tried this one in drier weather and it STILL WORKS SO WELL. I love this so much and I hate that I do, lol. Love love love this.
