Sweatproof Makeup

Hiya guys! I’m back in CEBU  once again and this time, it’s for the much-anticipated SINULOG festival. For international readers, it’s an annual religious festival that commemorates the Filipino’s pagan origins and acceptance of Catholicism*. Okay, so that’s the Wikipedia page definition. In yung unz terms, it’s more of street parade paint and beer partaaay!  It’ll be our first time to join in on this kind of fun so I’m kinda excited, kinda… nervous too? I mean, it’ll be an afternoon of streets flooded with thousands of people moving to the beat of the latest pop craze, drenched in sweat, beer and possibly rain. Not entirely my type of scene nowadays but hey, we only yung once. WOYO, right? Wait… that doesn’t sound right. Anyway, I know what you’re thinking.. who would wear makeup in that kind of event! *raises hand slowly* Yeah yeah, judge me, I’m that girl. But in my defense, I’m not going all out with a full-faced makeup. I just wanna sort of fake the “I-still-have-that-healthy-skin-glow-even-when-I’m-soaked-in-beer-sweat-and-God-knows-what” look. I’ll most likely fail and look otherwise, but at least I tried. LOLZ~ 1

The Guns

I brought with me my fave at the moment,Laura Mercier Artist’s Palette which I don’t plan on wearing at the street parties, but on other soak-free days instead. My masters of long-wear (which will be tested further in this egzperiment~) are the MAC Brow Gelcreme in Dirty Blonde, Chanel Creme Blush in Revelation and Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Amethyst. The NARS Albatross Highlighter used to be my top highlighter before it was overshadowed by my Burberry Nude Radiance and more recently, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. I remember this one lasted quite a while on my cheeks so I’m taking it out for a spin again and see how it fairs. I really love the golden sheen on this, not-as-subtle as Incandescent Light but photographs as beautifully, methinks. I’m trying out the Shiseido Perfect Mascara mini for the first time. Thought it wasn’t waterproof but I used it last night when I went out. We were rained on yet it didn’t budge one bit. Not a smudge or a smear. You could say I was amazed-balls. Also, it provided a beautiful rich black coverage on my lashes. No clumping, no weighing down, no spidery-look. Not putting a dot on that yet as I still have to wear it out more, but so far so goooood. And because I’m on a mission to finish up some products, I brought along the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powder which I like for setting my face without looking overly powdery. I’ve neglected this for a long time but I’ll be giving it some love again. Also pictured is one of my most-loved blushes, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Blush in Stereo Rose. No need for a highlighter on this one because it already provides a gorgeous, subtle sheen apart from its beautiful coral orange shade. 3

Be Resourceful. B-E RESOURCEFUL!

And just for some behind-the-scenes-action… I didn’t bring my ‘photography’ tools (a.k.a my whiteboard and DSLR) so I just used my dad’s 2014 calendar and my trusty iPhone to take all the photos for this entry. How’d you like the dates and plants on the background of the photos above, eh?  Hehe. I never really have the time to schedule posts so I really blog ‘on-the-spot’. I wish I did have though – to write a whole bunch of entries at the same time and schedule everything for daily posting. But being a full-time mom feels and actually is busier than I expected it to be, so I’ll make that a blogging goal for the future instead. Anyway, that’s all for now! Check back in soon guys. Wish me luck on the street parades tomorrow – hope I don’t faint LOL. And one more thing, thank you for joining the giveawayI wish I could give you all a blush or a lipstick or a whole makeup kit for that matter. For now, I could only send my kisses and some delicious roasted pig dreams to each and every one of you!

I’m currently having to live off a few products right now cuz I’m staying over at my aunt’s. I brought my ultimate fave CG Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation, my 2 Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders for setting my foundation, my Lorac Pro, 3 MAC Lippies and a mascara. I love how when I only have a limited amount of products makes me more resourceful or what I have.

Definitely feeling your pain – I keep trying to plan posts ahead of time, but I barely have enough time to write one at a time! Scheduling posts would just take waaaay too long for me.

Great picks, I have been wondering about trying the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish non shimmered powders for setting makeup so that’s good to hear they are not too powdery 🙂
