Fighting Temptation
I think I got
a wee bit, no scratch that — exceedingly excited with my
last Nordstrom purchase that I wasted no time and browsed through
Sephora to see what’s new. That online store is such a
temptress. I’ve always sorta grazed through the big
S before, carefully adding my wishlist items one by one in my shopping basket —
without the intention of checking them out.. just online window shopping. Hihi.
It’s also kind of therapeutic for a while there, until I get to the checkout price and just feel even worse than when I started. Plus, even if I feel super tempted to purchase, they don’t deliver outside of the US anyway so
c’est impossible!
This time, thanks to the
GCASH-Amex Virtual Pay (which I’ve raved about in my previous posts
here and
here), my sad online window shopping bouts have finally come to fruition. I’ve never been happier grabbing temptation by the hand and treading down that shiny and unnecessary-yet-invigorating path to makeup-ville with him.
Four samples come with this particular order — one sample more generous than Nordstrom that comes with just three. But Sephora includes a
full-sized sample — the
Murad Clarifying Cleanser.
I picked 2 perfumes,
J’Adore by Dior (which is my mom’s previous signature scent!) and
Liliana by Tocca (useless trivia: Liliana was one of Enzo and I’s name picks for Selene!). I also chose a sample of Ole Henriksen’s Perfect Truth CC Creme (always been intrigued by his skincare line).
And finally, a scratch-and-sniff card of Marc Jacobs’ new scent,
Honey. Eh, not my type of scent. Never really been fond of his perfumes, although I am wildly attracted to their lovely flower packaging.
Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi and that Donna…
I’ve been eyeing
Dolce & Gabbana‘s makeup line for the longest time now. Read raves upon raves regarding their beautiful eyeshadow palettes and blushes in American and other Asian blogs that carry the brand in their countries.
So when I stumbled upon
D&G on Sephora, I had to stop myself from putting everything in the basket!
1. because I could not afford it and
2. I could not afford it!
I settled for an
eyeshadow palette which due to my research is one of their top products—next are their blushes, then their lipsticks. I didn’t want to splurge on any blush because I’m at the point where I think all pink, peach and coral blushes look the same on me already.
And let’s not talk about lipsticks that I’ve been avoiding altogether because of my dry hopeless lips, save for the NARS lip pencils I’ve recently discovered.
Three cheers for
GCASH-AMex Virtual Pay!
Okay so I’m really
aliw with this service! This time, it took 10 days since I authorized shipment for the package to arrive at my doorstep.Untouched, unopened and sealed properly (see first photo above!).I paid a total of Php499
for shipping – no customs fees whatsoever! ☻
First time I’ve heard of GCASH-AMEX ever! Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I can’t wait to shop!!!
Welcome, Pau! Enjoy shopping 🙂
I love unboxings! And ugh I am shaking at the core to get that GCash Amex card, but am afraid that it will inflate my already burdensome set of bills 🙁
Php499 for misc charges is worth it. The markups are just too much! But I really should ignore your posts. I can’t afford to buy more makeup!
Woops, hehe. There’s always next month! 😉
Wow Shari worth it! 🙂 sharing your joy when your doorbell rang! ..(i’m pretending i didn’t come across this post..gcash amex.. sephora..) ugh!
GCASH-Amex, Sephora = killer combo. Take all my money!!! Haha. I don’t know if discovering this is a godsend or a curse, lol.
wow! the shipping is super affordable! not bad! Now I wanna get an Amex card for myself too! ugh!!
That D&G eyeshadow palette looks delicious.

Yup, they do! Di lang available here and very underrated abroad. But they have really good products – from the reviews of beauty enthusiasts I trust hehe.
Do they offer cash on delivery like http://www.goods.ph and lazada? Really excited to try it!
