I’ve been too focused on beauty products — always making use of spare time taking photos and drafting entries that I seemed to completely overlook baby Selene posts! I think I would speak for any parent with an infant when I say that by golly gosh, they grow up too quickly! So anyhow, the other day — Enzo, Selene and I went to Wilcon Builder’s Depot to choose tiles, walls and all other materials needed for the renovation of our house (I still feel so surreal saying it!!). Lately, we’ve been going back and forth this place because we’re sorta “DIY-ing” the design of the house (yes, sans a legit interior designer!). My sister (an interior design student) would help here and there but she’s busy with her final interior design requirement so I don’t bother her as much as I want to. Selene can now sit on her own! Before her 7th month mark, she started propping herself up on the bed without any help from Mommy or Daddy! The excitement is unlike any other – I believe something you’ll only understand when you’re a parent yourself. Who knew that seeing two little baby teeth peeking through that tiny little mouth gave such a high? These seemingly-little joys of parenting make everything worth it (yes, all the hours of labor and the what-felt-like-eternity-but-was-only-20-minutes pushing and grunting!). Aside from being able to sit up, semi-crawl (she sets herself up to crawl, and then dives!!) and roll around the bed however her chubby legs desire, she is also a voracious eater! Baby girl loves tasting all kinds of food. We mostly feed her veggies and fruits because I (yes, only me! Enzo wants her to eat anything and everything) want her to grow up and be a healthy eater (no fastfood, junkfood until she’s old enough to buy it with her own money!). We do let her taste a bit of some of the things we eat, though. When we ate in Yabu (where we are when these photos were taken), she devoured half the miso soup as if she won’t be growing teeth and wouldn’t be able to taste any other food anymore! This part of motherhood (where I believe I’ve passed the adjustment stage where you sort of gauge how this whole motherhood and parenting things go) has been the most enjoyable so far! She pretty much has a routine already set (ever since she was around 3 months, we’ve set up this routine already!) but with fewer naps than when she was little. The little bugaboo only takes 2 naps in the afternoon as compared to her almost 18-20 hours asleep stage before. Every day, just when I think I couldn’t be any happier and more excited, she surprises us with her cute antics, biggest grins and inexplicably amusing baby voice. I could gush about being a mom and having a baby in countless words innumerable times but I won’t be able to fully express it anyway. That’s all for now – thanks for reading!
