However, I got my hands on these Chanel babies during the last week of July because my beloved Chanel SAs called me and told me they’re already available though not yet displayed. I only planned to get Alchimie but grabbed Mysterious and Elixir as well (the husband insisted on getting them because they’re limited edition. He’s my enabler.). For this post, I’ll focus on the beautiful Alchimie. Alchimie is a golden mossy green with pink microshimmer. I thought this was very similar to Peridot but swatched next to each other, they look very different. Alchimie is frosty and metallic but not as metallic and shimmery as Peridot. The hint of gold is not as pronounced as in Peridot either so it looks good even on yellow-toned Asian hands like mine. Being a metallic, I was afraid this was going to be streaky but worked in carefully is not much of a problem. It’s not as easy as the Chanel cream polishes, but as a metallic— much more workable than most. The polish stays true to the Chanel formulation as this lasted a whole week on my hands without the slightest chip. Right now, I’m still on the fence with this color. I loved Peridot but this one, although it looks much better on my hands, I’m not quite warming up to just yet. It’s a different story with Mysterious though, which I’ll review soon. What do you think of Alchimie?
