My love for makeup has been slowing down as of late as I now begin my passion for skin care
. I know, right?
After being borderline hoarder on cosmetics, I now want to achieve flawless skin and not have to use makeup at all! Such is life
. So for today, I shall share a minimalist makeup look that will fake the skin I want to achieve a few months from now.
For my base, I used Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer (which I’m still trying out but so far, it looks HG-material!) — a new discovery I found when I went to a make up shop and saw Georgina Wilson purchasing it (she was with Isabelle Daza and their makeup artist friend who recommended it to them). I’ve heard about the product online but never really gave it attention as I usually skip foundation or any kind of base for my makeup routine. Anyway, I’ll write more about this sweet discovery in another entry. But for now, suffice it to say that I use this multi-purpose base as a sheer tinted moisturizer that works so well in evening out my skintone leaving a sort of bright, dewy finish and still letting my skin shine through as opposed to a flat and matte appearance.
I used my Bobbi Brown corrector
on my dark circles (which have already been made better by the Sensual Skin Enhancer but because I only applied it lightly, there was still correction to be done). I then dusted MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural
as a setting powder. Fixed my brows with my MAC Lingering
pencil (not in picture)
and set it with MAC Girl Boy
. For faking those rosy cheeks, I used Tarte Exposed
which is also climbing the list of my top blushes. For opening up my eyes a bit and giving it definition without looking too made up, I recently discovered the wonders of gel eyeliner
in the form of Bobbi Brown’s Black Ink
and applying it on my upper lashline only. Finally, for everyday lips, I found a new MLBB shade which is MAC Faux
That’s it! A total of 8
products for my lazy minimalist look. I skipped eyeshadow because I can’t perfect putting it on in a few minutes. Total time for this look is less than 10 minutes
! The longest parts would be the blending of the base and putting on the gel liner (which I have yet to perfect in minutes!).
