Review: MAC Please Me Lipstick

My obsession with lipstick has only just begun. Previously, I blogged about MAC Mehr and MAC Velvet Teddy — two great finds I discovered in the beauty blogosphere. And because being pregnant has given me such a privilege (or a curse!) of having too much time in my hands, coupled with the ease of online shopping, I have instigated an addiction that's bigger than me. With that, this serves as a warning that my next couple of posts may all be lipstick-related.

Moving on, I was so satisfied with MAC Mehr that out comes this sudden passion for pink lipsticks that I didn't see coming. I saw myself looking at different pinks from Snob, St Germain, Angel, Creme Cup, Impassioned but got interested with the Please Me most. It's a muted rosy tinted pink color in matte formulation. I've shared before that I have this proclivity to mattes despite their drying formula. I wanted to swatch it in person but MAC (Rockwell) said they don't carry it.

PS — I will do a collective swatch to differentiate all the pink lipsticks I've amassed soon! I was supposed to do it with this post but I've been feeling contractions all day and can't really take photos properly. ALSO, I may be gone for a few days as I am due to give birth anytime now! Scheduled posts aren't really my thing so I'll try to work on that but if not, alas. See you all soon and please do pray I give birth to the Misty Daughter already! As compared to Mehr, Please Me is a mid-tone warm pink, while Mehr is more of a dirty blue pink. It looks dark in the tube and swatched but it registers lighter and brighter on my lips. However, I like the matte formulation of Mehr more as I find this one to be more drying, if that's possible. I would wear Mehr when I want a MLBB shade and go for a more serious look while Please Me when I feel like being girly and fun. For those with yellow & olive undertones who are looking for a great everyday pink that's not too bright and attention-seeking but still vibrant and face-brightening, Please Me is a winner.

Cons? As with most matte formulated lipsticks, my lip lines are accentuated and dryness builds up. I do  put lip balm before application and/or scrub my lips first before wearing mattes most of the time, though to avoid these problems.
