Simple Naked 2 Bronze Look on Hooded Eyelids

Sharing my first ever experiment with the Naked 2 palette. I hope you don’t get tired of seeing these neutral looks as I’m currently learning the basics of eyeshadow application still. Also, a step-by-step tutorial on this is in the works —I’d really love to share the basic application for newbies who are as lost as I am when it comes to playing with their eyes, especially for those with hooded eyelids such as mine. Also, I’m really happy that in this look, I’ve finally managed making the colors come out even when I’m not looking down. Usually, the entire look gets swallowed up by my hooded lids that you don’t see any shadow at all. So, this feat is definitely a step up in my eye makeup skills (if you can call it that!).

For a quick peek on the shades I’ve used in the Naked 2 palette, read after the jump! I’ve also posted the other products I worked with for my complete look.

THE LOOK
1. Tease  — all over lid meaning from above the upper lashline to the crease/eye socket area.
2. Suspect — outer third, eye socket/crease and lower lashline
3. Busted — outer v
4. Blackout — upper lashline on top of eyeliner
5. Foxy — browbone just right above the crease/eye socket

I will be posting a very detailed eye tutorial on how I have come to understand the Asian hooded eyelid s case very soon. I’m still working hard on it as of the moment! It took me a while to understand how the crease of people with hooded eyelids such as me is merely a fold and does not equate to the crease of caucasian non-hooded eyelids. Caucasian lids’ creases and contour area (which I refer to as eye socket) coincide and are one and the same. For Asian lids that are hooded, the crease and the contour area are separate. If you look at the photo above, the area I labelled crease/eye socket is not where my eyes fold. My Caucasian”crease” is below that area where you see the fold.

I know my explanation wasn’t as clear as I wanted it to be but I promise to have a clearer and more detailed analysis in my upcoming entry regarding this.

I adore this neutral palette. Love how you created dimension and depth by deepening the outer V – works a treat. I have been doing this eye look often lately. So natural and practical for every day look

    Great Post!

Ate Sha, I have hooded lids din. Actually they aren’t even 😐 Yung left lid ko mas hooded kesa sa right lid. Kaloka di ba? Haha I always mess up with smokey look specially sa bronze/brown look. Ewan ko ba, siguro nga dahil sa di pantay ang lids ko. Pero you nailed it! Bagay talaga sayo ang naked look 😀 – Pretty Thrifty

It just takes a LOT of practice! Di ko rin yan nagawa in a month lang although matagal tagal na nga ang isang buwan eh 🙂 Practice lang talaga and seeing what works for you! I used to copy mga youtube videos pero different eyelids mean different ways of applicaton techniques pala 🙂 Kaya mo yan!
