Merry Kiehl’s-mas!

This Christmas was indeed a beautyfilled one! I received quite a number of makeup and skincare products from friends and family which I really really appreciate. This particular entry is dedicated to a box filled to the brim with products from on of my all-time favorite skincare brands, Kiehl’s. A college friend who now works with L’Oreal Philippines gave me this as a present this Christmas and I can’t be any more grateful. Thank you Maia if you’re reading this! ❤

Kiehl’s is one of the natural skincare brands that I truly believe in. Most companies claim to have organic, natural, etc. products yet when ingredients are thoroughly perused, include dermatologically declared harsh chemicals for the skin. Not naming any brands here, just be careful ladies!

Read on after the jump to read my initial thoughts on the products!
The Goodies
Ultra Facial Cleanser — I religiously use the Ultra Facial Oil-Free line and I love how squeaky clean the cleanser left my face without being too drying. However, I’ve been trying out different cleansers recently so I’ve stopped using the regimen (Ultra-Facial Oil Free Cleanser/Toner/Moisturizer) as of the moment. This 30ml sample vial will serve as my travel cleanser being the full-sized one is too bulky to travel with.  Full-sized 150ml product retails for around Php 1,800.

Acai Damage Minimizing Cleanser — I actually used this product on a daily basis after Maia gave me her 41 ml sample vial same as this one a year ago. It comes in a pump bottle that dispenses white foam instead of the usual consistencies I’m used to for cleansers. I like that it feels very light as if you’re just washing with water and nothing else. It always leaves a fresh feeling, without feeling too tight and dry like the Ultra Facial Cleanser. But since I am more for the tight and squeaky clean feeling, I like Ultra Facial for that. It did however manage to calm my redness down after every wash and made my dry patches less evident, but not totally gone. I’m not sure about the retail price of the full-sized bottle but I believe it’s also around Php1,800+.

Bath & Shower Cleanser & Body Lotion in Grapefruit — I’ve yet to try these two but the smell is very enticing, calling out my skin to try and taste its grapefruit goodness. Looking at the consistency of the shower gel, it looks really runny and watery, not so thick as what I’m used to for my body wash but I’m hoping it lathers up well. The body lotion also looks and feels thin as compared to my favorite Bath and Body butter. Will update on these two soon.

Ultimate Strength Hand Salve — A miracle worker as most people who have used it claim it to be. As of the moment, my HG hand cream is L’Occitane’s Shea Hand Cream and nothing has come close to it just yet. I’m definitely eager to try this though as it is said to be very moisturizing without the oil slick that comes with most hand creams — that in 1 minute, the thick consistency of the hand salve is absorbed. Can’t wait to do a full review on this vs. my dearest L’Occitane hand cream.

Body Lotion in Vanilla & Cedarwood — I love vanilla scents and this one is another staple in my hand bag for when I’m out. Can’t say much of it yet as I’ve barely touched it.

Other Samples in Sachets
Midnight Recovery Serum & Eye — I’ve used up half a sachet of the Midnight Recovery Eye cream for three nights straight (yes, a little goes a long long way!) and I can say that it works! It has reduced my puffiness visibly, although not so significantly yet but with continued usage, I believe greater results are at bay. The serum I haven’t touched yet but heard through the grapevine that it’s another miracle worker — giving off a very radiant skin just the next morning after use! Retail price of the full-sized version of the serum is Php 2,880 and the Eye cream is Php 2,250. The prices are well worth if you think about the longevity as each full-sized version will last you a year! Women with oily skin though, I recommend to sample this out first before buying the full-sized versions.

Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion — Great for spot/pimple treatment but a bit drying to be used as a daily toner. Not that I tone daily anyway, but for those who do, this will need an immediate dose of moisturizing right away. However, it dries up acne quickly and with only a minimal amount so a full-sized bottle will last a lifetime, as well. Price for the full-sized bottle is around Php 1,250.

Facial Fuel Transformer for Men — The husband still has samples of these and hasn’t used one yet so will have to comment on this product soon.

That’s all for today, lovelies! Watch out for Part 2 of my Beauty-Full Christmas. Featuring another beauty box from one of L’Oreal’s luxury brands.

Lucky lucky lady you are! Since my family doesn’t celebrate or give the traditional gifts I didnt get gifted much! But i did way too much shopping with mom so i guess that compensates more than enough! I must give her credit for being too nice with me! i’ve heard plenty about this brand and would be interested in their skin care for lightening pigmentation and fine lines! I’m trying to get into some anti-aging skin care now! Hope you have a great new years for both you and your family dear! Thanks for dropping by! 🙂
