Let’s Get Naked!

Christmas came early and after deciding (for an extended period!!) whether or not I should get an Urban Decay palette (knowing I don’t have the eyeshadow skillz), my husband finally just said to stop obsessing over it and get one already.

With that, I had to decide now which palette to get (if only I could get both then case closed but that is way out of budget!) — Naked 1 or Naked 2. I’ve read up on a lot of comparison blogs between the two and most of them suggest getting the original Naked for warm skin as it houses colors more suitable for warm Asian skin. Naked 2 has more taupe and greige neutrals as compared to Naked 1’s warm bronze and cocoa neutrals. Personally, the Naked colors appealed to me more. Lighter cool-toned shadows tend to make my eyes look smaller so I shied away from them.

I must say I love the Urban Decay Potion Primer and the eyeshadow brush that come with the palette. I’ve never used eyeshadow primer before, just a MAC Paint Pot and I can say that both work well in making eyeshadow last. I haven’t gone a full day and night with the UDPP yet but will keep you updated once I have. The eyeshadow brush is a bit big but is dense and does a great job in sweeping the shadows all over the lid so with that I’m very very happy! No shedding as of yet, as well.

The pigmentation is superb, and I can’t stress enough how I love almost all the colors! My favorites so far are Half Baked, Smog, Sin and Virgin. I have yet to discover the wonders of the other colors! One of these days I’ll post a FOTD photo wearing different Naked shadows. But for now, just a quick post on how I’m so in love with this palette though I’m so late on the Naked parade!

Oooh definitely hope you enjoy using it! I got the Naked 2 palette but wish I had the Naked palette instead – I must say though, it isn’t too bad in terms of Asian skin and cooler colors but it could be because I’m mixed :/

And YES the brushes are so amazing it definitely makes it easy to travel since you don’t have to worry about additional brushes! Although I’m more afraid of it getting banged up…for the price you rather keep it safe at home than travel with it!

Hi Sharina! I have the Urban Decay Primer as well! Though like you who’s also not that much into eye shadows it just tried out. sayang I never had the chance to use it that much but it was pretty great because I’ve used it on some of my photo gigs.

That’s great that you got a Naked palette. I recently got this one myself also.
I’m surprised most people don’t like the brush that comes with it, but I think it’s actually pretty useful too!
Have fun with your palette 🙂

Yay! You got the Naked palette! I prefer Naked over Naked 2 because warmer colors complement my skin tone more. I also feel like the colors are slightly easier to mix together within the palette. Congratulations on your first UD palette!

My favorite color combo is Naked all over the lid, Buck in the crease, a light dusting of Sidecar all over and Virgin as a highlight(:

Im in love with naked, I have naked2 🙂

  35. November 18, 2012 / 1:46 pm

as tempting both Naked 1 and Naked 2 looks, I just couldn’t bring myself to buy it since, most of the shades in both palettes are shimmery.
I’d prefer to buy the Lorac pro palette or The Balm Nude tude. ^_^

  36. November 18, 2012 / 8:42 pm

    Ooh, thanks for the post♥
I’m starting to feel like I should get this one too. I’ve been using one palette from Lancome for ages coz it has the perfect colors for me.. But this one seems to have the same colors and a bit more 😉 So it might be fun to try new stuff every now and then.. I’m too scared to put colorful eyeshadows on my face :DD

  37. November 19, 2012 / 7:09 am

I’ve been wanting this palette, but the shades here are similar to those I already own… I’ll probably wait until they’re all finished haha! By then, I’m sure there will be a newer palette out. LOL
